Jeff! Wonderful observation!. I have had the same experience. I was a witness for close to 20 years of my life. And three years later here I am, 100% out of the JW CULT. But it took a good 3 years to get out of it mentally, because it took ALOT of heart/tears and ALOT of research. I'm now a born again Christian and have a very different, and very rewarding beleif system through our Lord Christ Jesus. I cannot beleive how BLINDE I was before. And to see the people I grew up with still in the organization is somewhat depressing. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the light, we need to beleive in him!. The JWS miss out on that, and it's horrible. I know many young people who have left and don't go to meetings, but they are still shedding the "WT tears" as someone previously mentioned. They still beleive in it, they never really left at all. Isn't it SAD? I know. Don't be alarmed if they don't talk to you, or even want to hear why you left. Their brain is wired to be a certain way, and most of them don't wanna see things any differently. I hope all the best!.

Why do even inactive Jw's play the shunning game?
by AK - Jeff ini have contacted a half dozen people thru facebook.
all of these people i have known for 2 decades, most more than that.
in every case, i have not been overly apostate in my statements - just a simple hi, hello, and how ya' doin' type message to them in private.. nearly all of them fall into one of two categories: never been a jw, just studied, maybe attended meetings for a while, likely not doing so nowadays.

PARADISE EARTH OR HEAVEN? OR BOTH?
by exjw2814 inthe jw's teach about the hope we have for living on a paradise earth.
is that what jesus taught when he came to the earth ?
the last time i checked he was referring to heaven, not earth.

Agonus, thanks for your reply. Yes it does matter what we do and where we go, at least to me it does. That's like saying you're NOT concerned about your future. OF COURSE your concerned about it. Just by saying "the important thing is you'll be happy, reunited w/your lost loved ones" doesn't answer the question , where's your basis for beleiving that? You must have at one point been concerned about life after death, enough to look into it and come up with that statement.
Aguest, thankyou, you provided accurate scriptures from the Bible. I am too, a soldier in Christ Jesus our Lord. God Bless.
Jonathan, thanks for your reply. Good point. I do think Christ and the great crowd will reign (not in the way world governments do) over the Earth. It will be interesting indeed to see what happens, especially regarding the NEW JERUSALEM.

The JW's teach about the hope we have for living on a paradise earth. IS THAT WHAT JESUS TAUGHT WHEN HE CAME TO THE EARTH ? The last time I checked he was referring to HEAVEN, NOT EARTH. Explain.

How I obtained my personal files from Bethel
by jwfacts init has taken me a long time, but i have finally put together an article outlining how i used the law to force bethel to send me my personal files.
it is a very long article full of scans, so i have linked to it at http://jwfacts.com/watchtower/experiences/personal-files-privacy-act-1988.php.
in brief, in 2006 i requested that bethel send me my files on the basis that the australian privacy act 1988 entitles people to receive a copy of any information a corporation holds about them.

It's actually pretty simple to get DF. Just eat some blood, or vote, or celebrate a holiday. Actually, you can get DF from masterbating so try that one out.

Where do we go when we die?
by wannabe inwhere do we go when we die?.
there are many very confusing concepts about this subject.
about where we go when we die, and no one i've found to date has really set forth a satisying answer to this question; so i thought i might just employ some of the knowledge i've gained from my own thirty year study of the bible.. where actually would be the most sensible place to begin when dealing with this subject?

Those beleiving into Jesus Christ will go to Heaven, we live in the AGE OF GRACE. It's amazes me how little JESUS is emphasized in the JW religion. Read your bible. By the way, the 144,000 mentioned in the bible were from the 12 jewish tribes of Israel with each tribe consisting of 12,000 jews. They aren't Jehovahs Witnesses. And these 144,000 aren't the only ones who are going to heaven.
It seems to me ALOT of exjw's still can't wrap their mind around the concepts that were presented to them. READ your bible. And what's this talk of "Original purpose and Original plan"?. Gods plan of salvation is exactly the way he wanted it to be. Everything was predestined to happen. God didn't FAIL to do what he planned.
Where do we go after we die ? READ your bible. It's just that simple for those of us who beleive INTO Jesus Christ as our personal savior and for our only hope of salvation. NOT a human organization such as the WTBTS.
"Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed" (1 Corinthians 15:51-52)
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." (John 14:1-3).
"We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord." (2nd Corinthians 5:8)
"If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him." (John 14:23)
"We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him" (1 Thessalonians 4:14)
Jesus Christ states in John 3:1-7, that we MUST be born-again to see the Kingdom of God. The second birth is a SPIRITUAL BIRTH, which means to be born of the spirit (Gods holy spirit).
Personally, when I was a JW I thought I knew all the answers. And when I heard about this born again stuff, to be honest, I thought it was a load of crap. It's only when I left the organization, the bible began to speak to me in it's natural form. The way it should be read. Not with "in-house research". You know theirs a reason why the WTBTS doesn't want it's followers reading the bible alone without their publications, or getting involved with people in the "world".
The born again beleivers who beleive into Jesus Christ are considered to be in the body of Christ. And those of the "world" are those outside of that faith. Jesus wasn't talking about the literal world like the JWs use it. Jesus Christ died for everybody, just not a certain number of people in a religion.
Jesus died on the cross so those beleiving in him would have eternal life, we all know this. We live in the AGE OF GRACE. So if our hope is in JESUS we die and are raised with him too. Yes, it's true, from dust we are and dust we return, BUT, that's our physical body which rots away. It's our spirit that goes somewhere else.
REPENT, ASK FORGIVENESS, ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR PERSONAL SAVIOR. PRAY AND HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD.
God bless. ITUAL BIRTH, which means to be born of the "Spirit" (God's Holy Spirit). he "second" birth is a SPIRITUAL BIRTH, which means to be born of the "Spirit" (God's Holy Spirit).

this is gunna be a long road to truth, looking at both sides. and i will need help
by Aussie Oz inconvinced as i 99% am that the wt society is all we have concluded, i feel i owe to myself and my children to be 100% convinced before actively trying to extract them.. first up i must say, doctrine is of little interest to me.
what gets me is the provable wrong-doing, the hypocrasy, cover-ups, double standards, you know what i mean i think.. on that sort of stuff, i feel it right to look at the counter arguments and proofs offered to explain the wt side of things, both by wt soc themselves and apologists.. therein lies the daunting road.
i grew up in the 'truth', so i never got to make sure of all things before getting baptised.

Happy new year oz. I left a few years back and I was in it for 20 years of my life. Family is still very active, considering their is pioneers and bethelites among them. My experience with the WT was positive, basically because of the social aspect of it. The love I received was great, and talking about the bible was always inspirtational. I beleive it was a positive experience because we all beleived in God, and we were all a big family in that because we beleived in the same thing. For me the Witnesses are still my family and I do trust many of them. They are all I knew. I don't beleive in how much control the WT society has over it's members though and that's what causes the division. I don't agree with that. And that's why I left. Also, I don't think theirs enough emphasis on Jesus Christ. We need to go through him to contact God. Not to mention the many doctrinal changes over the years, which leads me to beleive they are not too sure on what to think. But yet their willing to shun their friends and family over the unstable beleif system. I think it's very dangerous. I do hope the best for many of them, they are good people. They are just lead to beleive the wrong kind of information. And many of them can't leave the organization because it's basically like a cult. "You can always sign out, but you can never leave". It's true to a certain extent, but it's ultimately up to you to change your viewpoints and beleif system. Like someone previously mentioned in this threat, " you gotta do it your way". I hope the best for you and your family, if you ever wish to talk to someone you can contact me. Take care

How do you feel about street people asking you for money
by I quit! inabout half of the freeway exits i get off at have someone there begging.
in the past i felt they were only hitting me up for money to by drugs or booze so i rarely handed them any.
in this economy i'm wondering if some of them aren't really in need of something to eat.
-
exjw2814
Most times I think it's for drugs or alcohol, but you can buy them something to eat, or take them something to eat or drink. They'll love that. It's not how much you give them that matters, it's the principle of it, you helped them out. You do good things like that and I personally beleive good things will happen to you in your life.

Will the Society Ever Print Another Evolution Verse Creation Book?
by frankiespeakin ini think if they do they will have to make many revisions now that information is so prevalent on the internet.
and with all that is known about dna and how it proves darwin was right i don't see how they could.
but i guess you can never put nothing past the wt and it's crack smoking writers to dig up something ridiculous to blur the lines of reality for the friends, for sure its got to be way harder to write such a book today and keep a straight face..

I don't mind some of their articles on Creation. And it's definetely one way you can find out more about God, by looking at his Creation, and draw closer to him......If you beleive in that sort of thing. Creation is something we can learn about God, so if the Witnesses just left it at that, that would be fine. But they always have to challenge what other people beleive. It's not right to criticize someone if they beleive in Evolution, that's their own personal beleif. Why is it always a competition with them for who's right and who's wrong ? You can only be saved through faith and beleiving in Jesus anyways. Not a human organization. They aren't suppost to fill in for Jesus and be your mediator between you can God. I 100% beleive they will print another Evolution vs Creation book somewhere along the road. The information they portray within the Organization is always repeated, so everyone gets the idea and are on the same page. "New light" will come along and they'll change their present understanding. History always repeats itself.

Jehovahs Witness History ?
by exjw2814 ini understand that many jehovahs witnesses don't know the history of their own beleifs.
but, what i don't understand is that they always say "god always had an organization on earth.
"they simply just talk about how they use to be called "bible students" back in their early days.

Yo jamspam, I was just saying he could get in trouble for being a Witness and looking at "apostate material". Lol, What's the big deal ? Relax, and take a chill pill. Your assuming you think im "Bitter?" . Im not bitter or against people keeping a "sense of identity" with any witnesses. I keep in touch with my own Witness family.........and I do "manage". Oh and im not disfellowshipped either so you're wrong with that assumption too. I don't expect Witnesses to stop comming onto "apostate" websites, but if they are on apostate websites and are witnesses I think that's hypocritical. Hey, I have my opinions and so do you. Have a lovely day princess.
