At my district convention last year they mentioned that a few hundred coupons were received (from the back of the tract) for Bible Studies. Since it's somewhat effective they're probably going to keep it up until it stops working. We had a few come to the memorial for the first time who received the tract in their mailbox.

There's something I don't quite get
by dgp inlet's say you're an active witness (well, you guys were, or are active witnesses) and you look around you.
practically every appliance, invention, whatever, most of the food, all the new discoveries, virtually everything was made by worldlies.
it's been that way for thousands of years.

As witnesses of Jehovah living in this system of things, we cannot actually "get out of the world." (1 Corinthians 5:9,10) So we can appropriately use the world in balanced, proper, limited ways. For instance, since we pay our taxes, we are entitled to certain services furnished by the governmental "superior authorities." (Romans 13:1-7) We properly use postal, police, and other lawful services, such as transportation systems. For what purpose? For proper living and to carry on the God-given work of Kingdom witnessing. But since we are not to use the world "to the full," all such things are used only to the extent that they serve Christian interests.

pierce addressed the rising number of memorial partakers at the convention on sunday.. he said that many are asking why the number of partakers is going up year after year.. his response (paraphrasing): "it's none of our business.
it's jehovah's business".. in other words, shut up and keep your place.. 5th.

I think that's one of the reasons for the new generation understanding; to make the number of new anointed irrelevant (since the new ones probably don't overlap with the anointed who saw 1914)

well i just received my 2010 alumni directory that covers everyone who graduated from the two high schools that were part of the district i live in.. so i spent the afternoon parusing its pages when i came across a listing for a guy who is now an elder in the congregation i used to attend.

yes, friends, this is another thread about the latest generation teaching.

Clarifications on the 2010 Generation Overlap

in "remain in the secret place of the most high", the closing talk of the 2010 district convention, the following clarifications were made on the 2010 generation overlap:.
the generation spoken of in exodus 1:6 includes all those mentioned whose lives overlapped (joseph, brothers, children, grandchildren).

How many baptized Bible Students (i.e. Adults) from 96 years ago could still be around?
Yes, that statement was a bit bizarre. I can't remember the exact wording, but the speaker also followed up with the statement that if someone was born in 1900 they would be 110 years old now. I didn't quite get the relevance of that, so maybe it was their way of saying that the first group has died off without actually saying it directly.

Why is it no one has the convention on mp3?

They're harder to come by these days. There was a specific announcement at the beginning of the convention that recordings should only be used personally or for someone you personally know who was unable to make it to the convention. The announcement also specified that they are not to be distributed.
