I have seen translated talks where the female translator faces the audience. Though it is obvious that it is the speakers words and not the translators.

Women can't face the audience from platform? Is this in writing?
by InterestedOne ini just read the thread about women & men waking up etc.
and saw a post saying women can't face the audience from the platform.
i thought, hmm yeah, now that i think about it, they're always looking sideways, like toward the other woman in the role-playing, or if they're being interviewed, they look toward the guy at the podium.

1850, The Watch Tower: Or, Man in Death; and the Hope for a Future Life-PDF
by Atlantis inif you are interested in the writings of george storrs, you will be excited to learn that one of the biggest finds in old adventist literature is now on barbara anderson's website, www.watchtowerdocuments.com.
the book is mentioned in jehovah's witnesses-proclaimers of god's kingdom, page 48 in the footnote as follows:.
*the expression "watch tower" is not unique to russell's writings or to jehovah's witnesses.

Wow, This is Getting Tougher!
by Franklin Massey ini'm having a really hard time giving my meeting parts.
i had a service meeting part this week and i could hardly get through it.
i am no longer convinced of some of the things jws teach and so i try to either eliminate those things from my parts, or reword them so that i'm not speaking about that which i do not personally believe.

Public talks: "lose" the outlines you no longer feel comfortable with and choose ones that emphasize Christian qualities or similar. Skip over any points you don't agree with (or maybe over-highlight them so the public may perk up their ears and say "they believe that???")
Bible Highlights: Highlights God's qualities, fruits of the spirit, christian living. Leave out stuff you don't agree with
Service Meeting Parts: If you get a subject you can't stomach, trade in advance.
Congregation Bible Study / Watchtower Study: Concentrate on the scriptures and bring out the context of scriptures, you can always gloss over certain paragraphs in the interest of time, or emphasize them hoping someone catches on to the absurdity.
If the subject matter does not really allow for circumventing what you disagree with, use phrases like "the Watchtower states...", "the book '------' states...", "the Governing Body teaches...", "the outline/paragraph says..." etc.
Sometimes just let the scriptures do the talking. Once I was discussing and article on "house-to-house" preaching and Luke 10:5 was referenced. To put things in context I had Luke 10:1, 5-7 read, which states at the end "Do not be transferring from house to house", I did not comment on this at all, but from the expression on one person's face, it was clear that they had never seen this scripture before in this context and will hopefully make them think.

Do you think a lot of JWs are ashamed of their beliefs?
by I quit! inthe reason i asked this is because i'm going to the funeral of a man who wasn't a jw.
my mother-in-law has lived in the same neighborhood as him for years and knows his wife.
i asked her if she was going attend the funeral service.

JWs label it "fear of man". I think it is more cognitive dissonance shoved to the back of the mind.

I had a friend at school whoncould have been my best friend. Problem was I kept making up excuses as to why I couldn't hang out after school. I wish I had just said "I'm sorry, but even though you are Christian, my religion says that any non Jehovah's Witnesss are bad association so I cannot hang out with you."

When you are only one among thousands, it is easy to feel like your contributions are small. But it is these thousands of small contributions that make the greater whole.

Taking Notes at Meetings and Assemblies
by punkofnice ini was considering recently the value and content of talks by reviewing notes i'd taken.. it seems i've taken copious notes but the content was naff.
not because i'd missed interesting bits but the talks were bland 'ministry' adverts.. the talks all seemed to be full of 'do more or god will murder you'.
'feel guilty because you don't measure up.

My family reviews the note in our family worship after the Assembly and Convention. There are sometimes many interesting points to be brought out and disgust... er.. I mean discussed.

Do not let work get in the way of pioneering
by life is to short inthe april 15th wt is strange and it just throws things in here and there that are kind of out of sort.
i think it sticks in your mind more like hey i probably should pioneer when they throw things in that are kind of in left feild.. like this example on pages 16 and 17 it is talking about making decisions and in paragraph 15 it says "for example a congregation publisher might decide to pioneer.
will he succeed?

@Franklin Massey, Pioneer entitlement is encouraged by the organization:
*** km 11/10 p. 4 Question Box - In What Practical Ways Can We Assist Pioneers ***
Certainly our well-chosen words may encourage them to continue serving as pioneers. (Prov. 25:11) Could we adjust our weekly schedule in order to work with them in the ministry? When working together, we might suggest using our vehicle instead of theirs. And if we ride in their vehicle, perhaps we could offer a contribution to help cover their expenses. (1 Cor. 13:5; Phil. 2:4) We also demonstrate our loving support by showing hospitality and occasionally inviting pioneers to our home for a meal.—1 Pet. 4:8, 9.
*** km 2/92 p. 7 pars. 5-6 Showing Support for the Pioneers ***
5 Everyone Can Help: Publishers can help by making themselves available more often to work with the pioneers. Pioneers enjoy the company and support of the other publishers. Perhaps you can arrange to work with the pioneers once a week or twice a month. Material things can be shared with the pioneers, and this generosity is much appreciated by the pioneers.—Phil. 4:14-19.
6 Families can do much to assist their members who are pioneering. Often, household chores can be rearranged to permit one or more family members to pioneer. One sister with three children works two days a week. Her sons help out by caring for the shopping and doing work around the home. The daughter helps with the cleaning and cooking. Since her graduation, she too has begun pioneering, alternating workdays with her mother. Such cooperation within the family enables more to pioneer and brings blessings to the family. -

Kingdom Interlinear = apostate literature?
by brotherunsure inhas anybody else come across jdubs that have never heard of the kingdom interlinear translation?
i noticed this artcle http://www.soundwitness.org/jw/kit_part1.htm and i've found when i asked witnesses about it some never heard of it and other's had heard of it but didn't have one and didn't know if they were still in print and one got all weird and suspicious saying "well what do you want it for?".
when i called the watchtower and asked if it was still in print the guy had to put me on hold and look it up somewhere, he didn't know off the top of his head.

If Fred Franz had read the above article, we may never have had the NWT. I guess he was special.
