Maze, welcome to tthe forum!
You have the same IP hash as SuperSpook / Spade.
this seems to be a favorite topic to bring up to any witnesses who post on any website where there are any opposers, either here or topix or anywhere.. so, here is the one and only place i will be discussing it.
who can prove that witnesses are specifically told not to post on websites about them?.
Maze, welcome to tthe forum!

since i'm not getting out of the jw cult any time soon due to my position and family i decided to do a little contra-action.
maybe some of you can share your stories, experiences and let me know how far you kicked it before you either left or got booted.
my intention is to get people thinking.. - a couple of weeks ago i had a demonstration on stage.
- I have a talk coming up where I'm supposed to take the scripture out of context and bash the divinity of Christ and focus it on the FD&S if I follow the 'approved' publications. Instead I researched the subject using Bible commentaries, researchers that prove the divine nature of Christ (not trinity though) based on the original text inserted some Greek, Hebrew and even some WT words like evidently and whipped it up with instances where the publications actually support those researchers' viewpoint when it fits them in another context (it took me a while to research). It sounds very WT-like but it's actually slightly biased towards the original reading of the text, doesn't mention the FD&S at all.
Can I get more details on the scriptures/references you found (either here or in PM?)

hello to jwn!
this is standfirm.
i mainly post on the topix jehovah's witness forum, but i decided to give it a try over here also.
StandFirm, welcome!
The faithful slave will not be happy, but I'm glad to have you here.
I am still in, but I've pretty much lost my belief that this is the only true religion. I'm always open to persuasion, so I am interested in what you have to say.
I would also be interested to hearing your thoughts on a proposal I made here:
Also, do you agree with the whole JW package? Or do you have reservations in certain areas?
in today's watchtower study, towards the end, you had one of those typical comments by a former df'ed witness expressing appreciation for being shunned.
these comments always remind me of a stalinist show trial in which the accused enthusiastically accepts being executed for the greater good (probably to save his family).. after this kind of nonsense is expressed, you will get a flurry of self righteous comments emphasizing how important it is to shun your disfellowshipped relatives, so that they can come back in the "truth".. oh, really?
do any of these people raising their hand realize that, if the "success" of disfellowshipping depends on your shunning, then the "repentant" person is "coming back in the truth" for the sake of their relatives -and not because of fearing jehovah !!!???.
Once again the Watchtower writers miss one of the key points in their "support scripture" of 1 Corinthians 5:9-13:
(1 Corinthians 5:9-13) 9 In my letter I wrote YOU to quit mixing in company with fornicators, 10 not [meaning] entirely with the fornicators of this world or the greedy persons and extortioners or idolaters. Otherwise, YOU would actually have to get out of the world.
11 But now I am writing YOU to quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man. 12 For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Do YOU not judge those inside, 13 while God judges those outside? “Remove the wicked [man] from among yourselves.”
vs 9,10 applies to those OUTSIDE the Christian congregation vs 11-12 applies to actively sinning Christians
Once you remove the "brother" from the congregation, they are no longer "called a brother", and should be treated as do the "worldly" people in vs 9 and 10.well to tell everyone shortly and simple like rubbish!
the 2 elders that were nice moved out and they were extremely friends and they saw that i had a hard time fitting me.
but the other elders are proud and stuffed up i don't go out of the way as i used to, why should i go out my way to say hello and how are you to someone that does not want to talk to me, they have such dumb reason we are busy with theocratic stuff, ya right like every meeting for the past 2 years i been in the hall you never had a chance.
I saw from another thread that you're planning to go to university. Good for you! Things will be better when you can be independent.
If you hate service so much, can you stop pioneering? You can still be regular in the ministry each week if you want/need to.
I don't mind service too much because the people in my hall are almost all nice to be with. But in my old hall there was this one older brother who was really cranky rude and mean to his wife, and always knocked on the door, then made you take the door, but didn't tell you ahead of time. I used to dread working with him, but I'd always get assigned with him. Another older brother was a really bad driver, but I didn't know that so I went with him in service. He braked in front of a semi doing 70km/h down a hill. the semi swerved and missed us by a few inches. I could have been dead and never let him drive again.
Gay JWs usually hide it, and sometimes even get married to hide it.

Ask Elder #1 if he's gay because he's always taking about gays.
" at the bottom of the image on the back of the invitation raises some eyebrows, but last night in the routine district convention article during the service meeting, i caught that one of the paragraphs mentioned that we would be encouraged to keep a copy of the tract in hand for a discussion during sunday's last talk.
my guess is, there is going to be some new revelation about what the "?
" represents, or some other fangled idea.
Maybe they put a "?" there because they don't know what it means (?)

I recently watched the video "The New World Society In Action".
One of the scense showed Fred Franz at a large International District Convention in the 50s. The narrator said that he had just explained how some developments with the King of the North showed how close Armageddon was (or substance thereof).
inspiried by other post and threads....and the love to type.. after going from being a self rightious pioneer and bethelite, to someone who had major doubts.my years drifted by me.
i had been a watchtower slave for over 50 years.
one day at a time, i sold my soul.
This is a damn depressing thread. I'm sorry to hear about what happened (Was) New Boy.
