  Back. and seeking ideas for screwing over the memorial

  ok. me and friends are going to attend a memorial on 30 march.. what would be the best way to get our message across?.

  should we just throw a hundred flyers into the hall in the middle of the memorial?.

  should we drink the wine and eat all the bread and then stand up and say something?.

  Sadly there are no magic words or actions that if said or performed will wake people up from JW programming. Only when someone has come to a state of mind where questioning the teachings is possible can you start to discuss and show them some of the many inconsistencies, misinterpretations and hypocrisy.

  Believe me I know this from personal experience, for years I felt there was something wrong, but buried my feelings. Even when I acknowledged the congregation had deep seated problems I still defended the Org as a whole. Only when I was ready could I see the bigger picture and then others were able to help me see the real truth.

  A big protest is unlikely to help people leave the Org and could ultimately back-fire very badly scaring off those who might be able to help.

  i have just gotten out and am free at last!

  my brother did so a few years ago and has been such an amazing help to me these last few weeks.

  i was raised a jw, disfellowshipped when i was 17, married a non believer and then dragged back in by my family.

  your fellow jw's mates that are df'd for drug abuse, drunkeness, and wild sex orgies refuse to talk to you because you are bad association.. you know you are a jw apostate when....... you come by to visit your jw parents, they open the door and say they are not interested.. you know you are a jw apostate when........ the wts takes your contribution for the wwf but refuses to send you a thank you letter.. you know you are a jw apostate when....... you can buy tupperware at a yard sale and not worry it has a demon preserved inside.. you know you are a jw apostate when........ you can visit jwn and not feel guillty for weeks at a time.

  you know you are a jw apostate when......... the girls at the kh find you more mysterious and sexy now that your df'd.

  i just wanted to let you know of something that has liberated me recently.

  i decorated my office with hearts for valentine's day this year.

  my family has known for over ten years that i do not want to practice the jw faith, although i am not df'd or da'd.

  Good for you, being true to yourself is so important and I hope one day your sibling is freed from Borg control and can do the same.

  For us it was Christmas (tree and all) it felt like I was reclaiming my life. This Saturday is my dads birthday and I have cards at the ready the first he will ever of had from me and my family.

  Nothing says freedom like celebrating a forbidden holiday.

  Divided household, spiritual widow, spiritual orphan. Propaganda expressions

  i grew up in what the society calls a divided household being a spiritual orphan the son of a spiritual widow.

  looking back now, these terms certainly isolated us, or marked us as being different from the ideal families in the congo.. there were quite a few of us divided households in our congo when we were growing up and as most of the spiritual united families wouldnt associate with us on a social scale, we mostly hung out with each other.

  a few of our dads became good friends as no doubt they had a few things in common, being the cause of divided households.. i remember one elders son saying they couldnt hang around us as his dad told him we were bad association, not that we were doing anything wrong, we pioneered on school holidays gave talks, answered up, did all the right things except we had a dad who wasnt in the truth.. these terms that the society use, also create an us versus them attitude within the family arrangement.

  Sadly I don't think your experience is out of the ordinary. My father was never in the truth and it certainly isolated him from his children in many ways and we were certainly looked down on by others in the cong.

  When my sister told me what the Borg is really like my dad was one of the first people I confided in. I felt he deserved to know the truth, he had been right all these years. Our relationship is much stronger as a result and I have a renewed respect for him, he truly is a good and wise man.

  I have nothing, but contempt for an organisation that lied to me all my life and made me grow up frightened that the father I loved was going to die if he didn't become a JW.

  We Saw a Demonic, Spiritistic Film Today

  it has voodoo, magic and spirits from the other side - it was better than going to the meeting .

  Does the JW Cult Rob People of Their Humanity!

  well for those of you who many not know i gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on the 31st jan, however our joy soon turned to concern when it was discovered our son had breathing problems.

  this concern later turned to fear as we learned that he had a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (cdh) and that he would need an operation asap.. basically our baby had a hole in his diaphragm and most of his digestive system now resided in his left chest cavity compressing his heart and lungs into the remain space in the right cavity.

  this is a very serious condition and much of the information we were given made very bleak reading.

  Thank you all for your congratulations on the birth of my son and for your thoughts on this subject.

  I would not be surprised if some of the dubs were making comments on how sad it is that your baby will not survive armagedon, and how they pity your child. Some of the really wacky ones are probably blaming your baby's health conditions on your lack of spirituality. Divine punishment.

  TardNFeatheredJW - I am sure you are right about Dubs in my old congregation gossiping about us and even saying our sons problems are linked to our turning our back on the Borg.

  The saddest thing was when my mother (still a JW) apologised to me saying our son’s health problems were her fault because she hadn't prayed for him enough. I told her it wasn't anyone fault bad things happen in life, but it’s how we face them and what we learn from them that counts. Sadly she now feels the need to do more as a JW just when I thought I had managed to get her away from the brainwashing.

  Thanks everyone for your comments so far.

  Hi Michelle365, you’re not being too forward, but I should warn you I can be a real baby boar.

  Our little man is doing really well; I would call him a miracle if I still believed in such things. We have a check up next week, but all being well he should be fine from here on. He does have a slight heart murmur, which they don't think is serious, but again we will know more in a month or so.

  I now have a new respect and appreciation for the work of special care baby units and the charity Bliss they do amazing things.
