Most Annoying Things That Happen At JW Meetings
by LittleSister intoday i was remembering how angry i used to get at the meetings and all the little irritations that in the end would just make my blood boil these included:.
prayers that go on foreverstudy or wt conductors still taking comments when its clear that the point has been covered 20 times alreadymeetings over running by more than 5 minsmy favourite was this one elder who would play guess the point i am thinking of.
he would keep rephrasing the question from the wt until someone would bring up the point he was thinking of.

Just thought of another one, having to sit on chairs that would qualify as a new form of torture.
Getting a numb bum is one thing but these chairs could create a whole new combination of numbness, back pain and pins and needles. It would get so uncomfortable that I would have to stand for part of the meeting much to brother attendant’s annoyance. Standing for the song would provide some relief, but then the prayer would go on so long I would think I was going to faint.
Once when I was a child I lost my balance during the prayer and fell into the seats in front, my mum was not amused ouch!!!!

JW's being asked not to marry?
by life is to short inok another poster just went to the two day assembly and i just went to the one day special assembly day sunday.
at both of them it seems there was strong words against getting married.
they had on the stage a group of young men about three of them an older sister who is not that attractive but she is really nice, of course not brother would give her the time of day, and this older brother who is in his 60's and nice but very strange.. they all went on and on and on about not getting married.

This is just more sick life stealing false doctrine, not only can’t JWs lead a normal life, but now they must be single freaks on their own.
This won't help them build up more numbers, but numbers isn’t what they want. I think they just like to play with people and see what hoops they can make them jump through. It’s got to adapt or come to an end someday the WTBTS I mean after all you can't keep telling people the end is near for another hundred years or more.
So what does the future hold for JWs? Congs full of single freakish bachelors with no family or education. Trapped by poverty clinging to an impossible hope, because everything else has passed them by.
Of course there will always be those who say that’s nice and still carry on doing what they want because let’s face it they don’t really believe, but are happy to stay in.

What was the occasion?
Surely not a wedding anniversary maybe some poor kiddies baptism or someone devoting far too much of their lives in the pioneer work.

Yes I forgot how embarrassing mums mic hogging was and how desperately the conductor would try to get her to stop talking.
She really should have had a one woman show called "and the fact is".

2010 Circuit Assembly..........Sunday Program nonsense and madness.
by RULES & REGULATIONS ini went to the sunday circuit assembly and came back all riled up with all the nonsense.. the sunday program was on ''safeguarding your spirituality''.
''it is better to remain single and not marry.

These people are the worst of thieves.
A regular thief just takes your stuff and you can always get more, but these guys steal your life, your hope and dreams things you can never get back.

Were you totally petrified to question the teaching of the dubs?
by MsDucky ini look back now and think what the hell was wrong with me?
it's just so crazy to be so blind.
everytime, i'd think that this or that wasn't quite right, i'd think i was committing blasphemy.. it's sad to know that's why many people are still stuck in that religion..

I never even thought to question what I had been taught from birth. It just didn't occur to me that it might not be true.
Now how dumb is that!!!!

Today I was remembering how angry I used to get at the meetings and all the little irritations that in the end would just make my blood boil these included:
- Prayers that go on forever
- Study or WT conductors still taking comments when it’s clear that the point has been covered 20 times already
- Meetings over running by more than 5 mins
My favourite was this one elder who would play guess the point I am thinking of. He would keep rephrasing the question from the WT until someone would bring up the point he was thinking of. As he got older his points became more obscure and we would all be desperately trying to guess what he was thinking just so we could get the WT over.
What things used to annoy you about the meeting?

Setting up trust any suggestions on how to handle our JW daughter?
by Bonnie_Clyde inwe set up a trust a few years ago but have an appointment with our attorney later this month to make sure it is current and make any changes necessary.
originally we had our daughter and our two sons to share equally.
now i feel that it should not be equal.

It’s difficult to give advice on such a personal matter so I can only go back to what my father would say.
My father is not a JW and spent many years handling estates and wills as part of his work for the trust company arm of a UK bank. He has seen many families destroyed fighting over estates and it always makes him sad to see families at war.
He says family is family no matter how hard or painful the relationship you don't turn your back on your children no matter how difficult things get. So he would tell you to share your estate equally as it’s not all about the money. The relationship you have with your sons today is a gift that your daughter is missing ultimately she is the one who will suffer and have regret not them.
If you want to reward your sons for their attention do it today share things with them while you are here to see the benefit.

"they need the truth"
by rockmehardplace ini always hated that saying.
as a jw, didnt we believe everyone needed it.
but you would always have brother or sister so and so talking about how miserable someone was, or the problems they had and it always ended with " they need the truth".

The last thing anyone needs is the JW version of the Truth, if anything JW's need to know the Truth about their precious WTBTS.
