Moshe I agree by becoming someone the elders don't want around you tend to get left alone. Spawn and I didn't go the needy route we use this method Spawn scares the crap out of them so that they daren't go near us.

I think most JWs use selective hearing and tend to ignore directions that are inconvenient as long as they don't think they will get caught. If they are caught they can always use their get out of jail free card aka it’s a matter of conscience.

How did you treat people?
by captain indo you ever feel guilty about the way you pre-judged others when you were a drone?.
i feel guilty about it every day!
people's lives are so complex, we know so little of their personal struggles and "thorns in the flesh" yet we're conditioned to prejudge on a checklist of criteria published by a few men in new york.

I was lost in judgmental hell and hated people, but I found the way out and now I love most people and try never to judge anyone.
Do I feel guilty, sometimes, but I think a better use of my energy is to try to repair relationship where I can, help others and build new friendships.

Jehovah and the Munchausen Syndrome
by Terry inwhat is munchausen by proxy syndrome?.
one of the most harmful forms of child abuse, munchausen by proxy syndrome was named after baron von munchausen, an eighteenth-century german dignitary known for telling outlandish stories.
a parent will induce illness or injury in their own child and then take the victim in to the hospital to be seen as the heroic savior.. typically, the perpetrator feels satisfied when he or she has the attention and sympathy of doctors, nurses, and others who come into contact with him or her and the child.. because the parent or caregiver appears to be so caring and attentive, often no one suspects any wrongdoing.. .

I see your point, but as a side note Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome is not exclusively demonstrated by abusive parents it has also been linked to several health professionals most famously in the UK Beverley Gail Allitt nicknamed the Angel of Death. Shemurdered four children and injured five others while working as a State Enrolled Nurse (SEN), on the children's ward of Grantham and Kesteven Hospital, Lincolnshire.
Is God guilty of Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome yes if you believe the Genesis account he created the concept of sinned, which in turn supposedly made humans more dependent on him therefore give him greater attention.
Look at how he played with the Israelite nation using an abusive mixture of reward and punishment i.e. you have been naughty so I am going to send foreign armies against you who will slaughter ever man, woman and helpless child that will teach you to ignore me.

Yes it was long drawn out on off relationship; just because you love someone doesn't automatically mean you are right for each other.
We were two people who should never have been in the same room let alone go out. He pursued me for over a year with letters, visits and even wrote me a song.
First time he broke up with me by letter (what a coward), second time on the phone told me he would be embarrassed if I came to his party as he was bringing someone else so I told him to go to hell and we haven't spoken since that was 15 years ago.
Ironically I got on better with his mum a lovely lady who both Spawn and I where good friends with for many years.

what were your meetings for field service experiences?
by Coffee House Girl inmy mom (still in the borg) was telling me about going out with the c.o and his wife this week in field service & i started re-living the horror show that would go on during saturday meetings for field service-.
ah... the dreaded splitting up into car groups... i always felt like we were in gym class being grouped together for a game of dodgeball-.
the co and elders were the team captains and we would line up for the count.

Ministry used to make me sick with nerves so by the end of the meeting I would be shaking and having to conceal the oncoming painic.
This is odd because I never had a problem with nerves at any other time (barring meeting assignments) used to handle big meetings in London for my old employer without even breaking a sweat.

sensitivity toward right and wrong
by man in black inthis morning i was reading an article in the paper, and a referrence was made toward st. augustine regarding his opinion on humility.. immeadly i felt upset, and after reflecting, i remember when i was a witness the wt.
made several comments over the years about how this man was a discouragement toward the true early/original jw's centuries ago.. .
but, growing up as a catholic, my grandparents attended a parish in chicago st. augustine, and throughout my younger years i learned quite a lot about the good that this man did, and the efforts he made to help the early christians.,.

Sadly as a born-in JW I don't have the experience of past teaching being wiped away, but I do shudder at how I failed to examine JW teachings more closely. I think it is the cult tactics that kept us from questioning what was being taught.
The more I read now I can see how illogical JW doctrine is and also how intelligence is no protection from indoctrination.
Sad though it is that you lost for a time the teachings you had at first be glad that you have found them again perhaps with a new appreciation.

Almost all woman want to get married and have children.
I don't think the desire to be married and have children is exclusive to women I just think we perhaps voice our feelings on the subject a bit more.
I used to think I didn't want either, but have ended up very happily married with two beautiful sons who I adore funny how life turns out.
