the wts informs its followers that they are not: "under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it.
" (insight on the scriptures volume ii p. 245).
"for the purpose of protecting the interests of god's cause, it is proper to hide the truth from gods enemies... this comes under the term war strategy.

i recently read 'hostage to the devil'.
the 1st book that gave me nightmares in decades.
very spooky.
fyi = Malachi Martin wrote 'hostage to the devil'.
Hamsterbait, your book [the house of Dr. Dee] sounds quite spooky too.

i detest this type of posting.
it's only my opinion of course and so long as forum rules aren't breached we're all free to express ourselves as we see fit.
doesn't mean i have to like it though.. honestly, can't you make your point without this kind of infantile name calling?
These are some of the things my JW brother has told me through the years
'you shouldn't reject what the bible says because it doesn't suit your mental tastes'
'That's like polishing the brass on a sinking ship'
my favorite 'it's called "lying for the truth"'
'that's apostate, I won't look at that'
'well, I guess you don't want to be saved'
i need to get rid of it.. when i was a kid, the brothers would always get on stage and talk about what an abudant buffet of spiritual food from jehovah's table we will receive.
when i was a kid i use to take everything so literally, so i would imagine a buffet of ham, chicken, macncheese (the most creamy mac n cheese, candy yams, turkey, corn bread).
i used to wish that the brother would finish with the prayer so we could get to old county buffet, so i could get to the literal food.. .
call me Tommy two times, Tommy two times, I'm going to get the papers, get the papers

Jolietta, I wish you the best in your digestive passings Nothing like good ol research into the facts. Although, sometimes bitter, it's good for the rational part of your mind that has been 'trained' to avoid truthful things..... [that's a mild reference to the 'Lying for the Truth' mentality]. God bless.

is there any wt doctrine you think is not subject to change ever?
any doctrines you feel may change some day but no way in the next several decades?.
i was just thinking about those of us younger than 50. if we live to a healthy ripe old age, just how different will the jws be then from what they are today?
Looking back through the JW history, the only doctrine that hasn't been subject to change is the doctrine that the end is at hand and if you wanna be saved, you gotta be with us.

most witnesses never could explain exactly who the "faithful slave" was (according to the society's explanation).
the resurection of the sodomites was another bewildering thing.
were they or weren't they going to be resurrected?
One doctrine that I can't believe is still promoted is 'Lying for the Truth'.
God says over and over and over again that he hates liars. How could anyone buy into that truck load of bs?
