there's different translations regarding the corinthian text, but i pasted the new living translation 2007" version as its the most colorful.. now, i will speak to the rest of you, though i do not have a direct command from the lord.
if a christian man has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to continue living with him, he must not leave her.. so paul highlights the fact that he's speaking from his view in this letter.
on the other hand we have paul's letter to timothy which goes, "all scripture is god-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of god may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Doesn't scripture say 'what God has brought together, let no one pull apart'. Sorry, I don;t have the book, chap and verse, but I'm sure it rings a bell. I know that there are other scriptures indicating that husbands and wives can decide to leave each other, but no one should tell a person to leave their husband or wife. IMHO of course.

would jesus really have participated in observing a passover ceremony which honored moses and the mass murder of egyptians?.
Great John painting Burn. I remember hearing that story before, but forgot it's source. Do you know?. Is it in scriptures or one of the church fathers?

Hi all
I just came upon this post and wow~Holy cow Cameo-D. You actually believe this crap that you're saying against the wisdom of God! Sure, the slaves were having a good old time building Pharoes' cities. Yes, they had to eat things that were bitter for rememberance of the truth. And if you don't like Jesus's look in a painting, then I gotta ask, What did you think of the Ark of the Covenant design? Paganism?!
to the household of god, israel, and all those who go with... may you have peace!.
when i was first directed to this "city" 9 years ago, it was with a very purposeful message.
if a man loves me, he will obey my commandments and my father will love him, and we will come to him... and make our abode with him.
Mall Cop, I feel bad to read such a sad reply. If you are a Christian and believe in the bible, yet cannot love Jesus Christ because you don't know him.....that's just sad. I believe he knows you and has counted every hair in your head.
i have never gotten a good answer for this questions from any other jw's other than "everyone was of the annointed back in the first century" or "we are showing our respect for the arrangement" or some other nondescript comment.. even the notion that we "celebrate" the memorial is not accurate since the "celebration" part is limited to 8 or 9 thousand people and the 15 million or so that attend are merely observing or watching.. is there some other biblical support for people to observe the celebration ???
in all my life as a jw, i still don't quite understand the significance of it from a biblical persective.. rub a dub .
.
Is that what you did TT? I mean, really, how would you know? Sounds like more party line propaganda from the 'Watchtower' or 'Awake' then from any real experiences.
hello all, i had some questions regarding the booklet 'should you believe in the trinity?
' i should mention that i'm a catholic and my brother is a jw baptised some 15-20 years ago.
since he found 'the truth' he had been quite vocal regarding the manyu, many false teachings of the catholic church.
Thank you TT, it's all so clear now.... but what does that comment mean?!

No need to be rude is there? I have spoken with a many Jew regarding Christianity, however, I don't look to Jews for my Christianity. Jews do not accept the NT. I do. Why would I look to Jews for Christian answers? I might as well as Muslim. Also, I am not a fundamentalist, I'm a Christian. Your diversionary tactics undermine youir own beleifs [if you're a JW]. What JW looks to what a modern Rabbi would say to define their faith. What JW is even permitted to 'study' with a Jewish rabbi?
How is reading and believing in scripture being brainwashed anyway? Perhaps you're projecting something that you are feeling.

As a Jew would? Which Jewish group would I look to for that? The Jews didn't understand the nature of God [same as today for us all], however there are still truths that shine forward and cannot be contidicted. Sure, they argued about what exactly did God mean when he reveals himself as we.
Truth- There are 2 words for one in Hebrew. There is 'yachid' meaning only one, something that is solitary.
Then there is the word 'echad' which usaully suggests a synergy of more than one. For example 'day and night became one day', husband and wife became one flesh'.
It is the word echad which discribes Jehovah God without exception. Even 'we made man in our image, according to our likeness'. The tower of babel the Lord says 'let us go down' yet no one else goes down with him.

yes, the 1st Christians were Jews [hello apostles and Jesus mother], but in the book of acts, many non jews became Christians. Jesus came for all people, didn't he? The very first folks to worship Jesus were pagans, not Jews [hello 3 wise men]. As for what the 1st Christians believed after scriptures, see the church fathers who were taught from the apostles themselves. Do you think that Jesus was an idiot who didn't know how to get His church moving? He promised that it would stand though all ages, for all people and against the gates of hell. Didn't he? Many Jews [most Jews] are still waiting for their savior, most Christains are waiting for his return, and a few believe that he is here now [unseen].
