  Do you miss God?

  if you are one of the posters on here who has got to the point where you do not believe in god to any great extent, do you miss "him".

  i find that i rarely used to ask god for anything, or load him up with my problems, everybody elses were far more urgent, but i did used to feel moved to praise him when i saw the beauties of creation, a sunset etc.. i now feel an urge to still do that, but do not believe anyone is listening, do you get moments like that ?.

  Maybe another related question is -- have any of you that left JW and became atheist considered that maybe this false religion has merely succeeded in distancing you from the God which does exist, and isn't anywhere near what you'd been dragged through all those years? I'm not saying that I know that to be the case, I'm just saying it's at least worth considering.

  Ironically, I've come out of my JW experience establishing a new relationship with God -- not Jehovah, not the God of the RC religion - but God the universe.

  Jehovah's "name" real or not?

  has the wtbs ever addmitted any where that gods name is not actauly known?.

  The way it was explained to me when I was learning about JW beliefs, one should use his name as much as possible because it pleases him and is a way of being closer to him - being on familiar terms.

  However, when I was listening to the last part of hobo ken's recording, it struck me how incredibly disingenuous this is. The way it winds up being realized, a JW strives to be heard by other people using the name Jehovah, so as to make a big public display of their intimacy with God. What a crock.

  being very interested in psychology i read a book as a teenager and re-read it last year called " gestalt therapy verbatim " by frederick perls m.d.

  it deals with dreamwork therapy in which he conducted seminars helping people to re-connect with subconscious parts of themselves by recounting their dreams .

  I have a lot of very involved dreams, many of which I think would make bizarre Dada style films. I write them down whenever I can. Most of the weirdness is of the "psychological thriller" variety, i.e. to describe literally what is taking place it's very tame, but there is always some twisted emotional drama going on in the background of it all.

  But I don't think dreams "mean" anything. I think it's just the brain reorganizing and clearing transactions - maybe a little like computer disk defragmentation.

  i am sort of digging the olympics.

  plus, i used to live in a state that really should be annexed by canada anyway, michigan.

  but i love hockey, autumn, maple syrup, and cold weather.

  As for me I've been in love with Canada since I went on class trip to Quebec in high school, and then doubly so when a friend and I took a summertime road trip up through the Atlantic provinces - been to all except Newfoundland.

  Charlottetown has my heart. Halifax has my stomach. I need to go back and collect my various innards.

  I'm also thinking of moving to Canada. The most appealing aspect of it is how few people there are, and even fewer of them are yanks. (see I already talk like one).

  What if the witness didn't even notice the change and shoved it in his pocket? I guess that 2ndary moral of the story is to always stand there when a bus driver gives you change to count it up to make sure it's right before taking your seat and letting the bus proceed, lest you sell J's name out without even knowing it.
