My amazement is without end

it occured to me that i had a number of old watchtower books and such that i was never going to read and saw that there was at least some monetary value in them when i browsed ebay.
so i got to selling them.

WHY DO THEY CARE? Why does it make the people who write that crap feel better to know that perfectly healthy and normal teenagers are being guilted into a frustration that is distracting, stressful, and leaves them prone to the most difficult temptation to REALLY do something wrong (like accidentally make a baby before they are mature enough to take care of it).

in particular i have one: its of a 14 year old girl in a swimsuit and white t shirt.

just put the photos in a box, tape it up, and put it in the most remote part of the attic/cellar/storage facility/barn/closet ... or whatever you have. they are just representations of memories of times gone by.

Something You Hate About The Jehovah's Witness Religion
by minimus inone thing that truly bothers me is that the religion forces you to accept an understanding they have expressed.
they might very well change their view and you simply have to accept the newest view or you are the bad guy!
the generation understanding has changed so much since its inception, how could any witness possibly be 100% sure that what they're told to believe in is "the truth"??.

outlaw ... really, is there that much money in it? i mean that would be an obvious reason since it seems to motivate pretty much everyone, but .... even the 'fortune and glory' thing, or any plausible reason ... I am basically trying to put that together in my head with all the harsh bitter pain at the other end of the hierarchy.
I guess I just don't want to be that jaded.
edit: agonus, that's so funny you say that. I was daydreaming about that exact thing like last night or early this morning. crazy.

How do you deal with forced time with old JW friends?
by 5thGeneration ini'm facing a bit of a dilemma and wondering how to deal with it.. my fade is as complete as i want to make it but i'm going on vacation and lifelong super jw friends are going to be where i am staying.. i'm wondering how some of you have dealt with this in the past.. do i simply and uncomfortably stay quiet about not attending, going to the meetings?.
do i just matter of fact state that "yeah, i just haven't been going for a while"?.
or do i play the sheepish, discouraged, distraught role?.
