Hi Sister X.
Now that you have some free time, get to know yourself whether that means getting outside and enjoying nature (it's springtime here in the midwest) or picking up some books in the religion section of the local library or bookstore. As far as churches are concerned, I attended a Unitarian/Unity church for awhile. It gave me that sense of community but it's much more light-hearted in its' doctrine (if I can even use that word). They speak of god as either mother or father and their music is beautiful (think 'Morning Has Broken' by Cat Stevens). People are friendly and they don't care what you wear. I've also attended a non-denominational mega church just for the experience.
The point is that your options are endless. You can pick and choose to do whatever you want. There's even a blog I follow on Facebook wherein this couple attend a different church every week. Their motto is 'we go to church so you don't have to' and each writes their own version of the experience.
It's a great journey. Enjoy. I certainly am.

i went to a pranic healing class with my sister in law last week (i've been out 6 years and i'm starting to get pretty open minded).
i didn't expect to feel or experience anything "different".
i thought it was all weird but was not scared of the ideas like i would have been a few years ago.. so anyways we did a couple excercises where we held our hands a couple feet above our partners hands and visualized light in different colors beaming out of ours and hitting theres and then switched roles.
I work regularly with a massage therapist that is also certified in Reiki and does energy work. I feel so much better after my sessions with her and use that time to meditate on whatever chakra color appears to me during that time. My body is always vibrating after my time with her and I continue my own energy work throughout the rest of the week. I use 'the force' and it is definitely strong with me.

i can't believe how people in the "organization" can be so cold hearted.. .
last october, i got an invitation to a friends wedding where i grew up in portland, oregon.
i now live in san diego, california.
When my brother got married, he sent an invitation to our home, addressed to my daughter and niece. And they wonder why I chose to get married in another state.

hi there, i don't claim this is true, it just came to me just now, perhaps you can point out any logical errors etc i've made or any other conclusions?.
.
there may be or may not be a god.. there is definately a universe.. the universe may have been created by god or may have come into existance of it's own accord.. neither the universe nor god can come into existance at a particular point in time as there was no time prior to the universe - it didn't exist.. only at the universe's creation did time begin therefore god never existed for a certain amount of time prior to it.. my conclusion is that god is the universe or the universe has always existed along with god?.
Satanus: I love, love your response. It comes closer to articulating something that I 'know'. Nicely put.
Thus, the question of what was before is unanswerable(.)
I think that's because people don't realize how limited you are when you use words. Our experiences cannot be fully articulated because 'there are no words to describe it.' In your next response you say you must have gone into an alternate state of mind? Of course you did! Words cannot describe that state. You can only experience it.
Enjoy the journey. I know I am.

Once again the JW's have it wrong. Erev Pesach (Passover evening) is on Monday the 18th. The first full day of Passover is Tuesday and continues thru the 26.

last sunday on 60 minutes they did a piece on the vatican library.
the library houses documents that go back 2000 years.
they have the earliest writing from 'the gospels', specifically the gospel of john.
Blondie: Supposedly the manuscript dates back to 100 years after the death of the apostle John.

Last Sunday on 60 Minutes they did a piece on the Vatican library. The library houses documents that go back 2000 years. They have the earliest writing from 'the gospels', specifically the gospel of John. The curator read John 1:1 from a very old manuscript and it says "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God." Unlike the NWT that says 'the word was with god'.
Wonder how many JWs caught that and said or did it go right over their heads?
