I believe that probably Jesus and definitely Adam are mythological characters. Having said that...
I'm a mother. I make wonderful, delicious cookies. I put a couple of these cookies on a beautiful little plate with a glass of cold milk and set it on a little table at my child's level. In the playroom. I tell my child not to touch the cookies. I tell him that if he eats a cookie it will kill him. I then invite another kid over and this kid (who I invited over) takes a cookie and eats it. Then the kid tells MY child that he just had a cookie. It was delicious and the friend not only didn't die, he enjoyed the cookie. My kid takes a bite. When I find out I fly into a rage, throw them both out of the house and let them die of exposure.
But I LOVE him....

i've never celebrated halloween but i know what candy i would have wanted.
hershey bars, reese's cups, peppermint patties.. the worst for me would be mary janes, squirrels, any maple flavoured candies.
sometimes the expensive, exotic candies are the worst!
Best: Mini Baby Ruth bars
Also Good: Mini Hershey bars, Mounds, Almond Joy, Snickers, Twix, Reese's PB Cups
Bad: Hard candies, toothbrushes (but that's not candy), pencils (again, not chocolate)
This is the first year in 21 years that we haven't carved pumpkins. Oldest "child" is 22 and youngest 2 are in college. We're making do with those carved "faux" pumpkins and they look cute and are definitely less messy and much less likely to go to mush on the porch but still feeling a bit nostalgic.
hey, im bohms girlfriend.. i have been arguing alot with bohm himself about the huge amount of time he spends in here:-) now i've decidet to look it out my self.. about me: i have growen up in the socalled "truth".
i was baptised when i was 18 - because of an earlier boyfriend, who wouldnt be with me when i was not.
now i really hate him for it... it would have been so much easier if ive never got baptised.

Sounds like you're doing a great fade. Keep it up! If they should contact you, be pleasant but don't be pinned down. You're so busy...still getting settled...you'll get in touch.
The hardest part of this fading is facing the fact that things will be weird with your family. In addition to reciting "It's not my fault", add in "A normal life is worth it". Try to enjoy your life and work to build a new family of dear friends and future in-laws. It will get better and your parents may even relax a little once it becomes obvious that you have made a choice to not participate in the religion.
It will take time...use it to build a new life!

My 21 yo daughter (never been a Witness) was impressed...she said it'd make a good zombie apocalypse bunker. No windows, metal doors open space all around....
is there or has there been anything that has aided you in your quest to rid yourself of the bitterness and resentment of the jw's .
i know for some it has appeared that they have a newfound religion or religious belief, but that is not the case with myself.. for some maybe visiting these sites encourages them to shed those miserable memories?
for me it just builds more resentment.
And...more seriously...my experiences made it possible for me to warn my kids what to look for. I was able to teach them to question authority with lots of personal, historical anecdotes. I really think that my experiences have allowed me to give them a certain level of vaccination against indoctrination (and not just religious!) Though I wish they had realized that when I told them to constantly question authority I obviously did not mean MY authority...sigh...
