The Truth No one Wants To Hear
by maccauk11 inthe truth about messiah and what he acheived in the 1st century is something millions of believers in christ refuse to accept namely the historical record of things all fulfilled in that momentous 1st century.it is rejected because the -isms, man made doctrines, theologies, false teachings etc etc that abound since then and so millions have allowed themselves to be brainwashed, conditioned into.
the reality is so simple if one lets messiah remain with his intent and meaning.
but if we change his own words, we become divided.

Best "wake-up-call"-arguments?!
by Mr Fool inhi everyone .
it was not my intention to write here anymore, but i found things that caught my interest, things that i feel to share in the hope of someone finds it interesting.. the core is that the wt surprisingly admits that what "we" believe in, is after all, only opinions (awake 2000 june 22 page9-11 "do not be a victim of propaganda).. anyone with a scan of thiese pages would make my day ;-) the questions/arguments below are built around this:.
feel free to find better arguments ;-).

You are totally misreading what they mean. When they say "we" they really mean you (plural, those who read the information), they don't have "just" opinions they have "the truth" because they are guided by holy spirit (from their standpoint). People use "we" often when they're trying to point other peoples faultes or areas of correction or improvement (we are all imperfect..., we all make mistakes... , we all can show more love..., we have just opinions = meaning: you should be better, try harder, be more loving, be willing to examine your opinion (and conform it to the "truth" they preach).).

Most people would love to know the real truth about Jesus. But they are weary because so many claiming to have the truth turned out to be liars... You make sweeping statements. Can you prove any of them?

What do you say if you get asked "Are you an Apostate?"
by KateWild ini am reuniting with past students and return visits.. i met up with a young lad i used to call on.
he is not baptised, but at university in his 20's and living away from home.
his mother is a jw and his father is not.

I would say No, I'm not. I don't use the label 'apostate' because to me it implies that the JW would be the true religion. I just say that I'm no longer one of JWs or that I don't believe their teachings anymore. I know, it is too long and it doesn't have the same ring to it, but I think it's more accurate.
I believe JWs are apostates from the Bible teachings, as well as from historical Christianity. They are just one of those homemade religions made up of hodgepodge of wierd and marginal ideas. Can you really be an apostate of an apostate religion?

Most aggravating religious group
by keith85 inlook i don't care what you believe, i really don't.
just leave me out of it.
if i were interested in your beliefs i would pursue them, but trying to force your literature and views onto people is just rude.

Who is easier to indoctrinate, men or women?
by kneehighmiah infrom purely anecdotal evidence, i believe women are more indoctrinated on average.
i can openly disagree with the governing body with men and it results in a discussion however, most women i've talked to have immediately shut me down by ending the conversation.
the only person currently shunning me is a woman.

This is just a generalization but I think more women tend to be interested in spiritual things. Now, I go to R.C. Church and see the same trend and even among my non-believing friends and family I see women longing for some kind of "after-life" so they can be together with their loved ones. Maybe it is just the way women are... more feeling than thinking. I am the same way, on logical and intelectual level I don't really believe in God, but I desperatelly hope He exists and will fix all the bad things so that the human condition will improve ( I hate all that child abuse, human trafficing, wars, torture, mistreatment of marginalized ones, hunger, death from easily treatable conditions,.........the list is long. And I don't put much faith in humans because all this are problems they created and are not willing to erradicate).

Christians please answer something for me
by confusedandalone inor should i say some things.... reading over another thread and a number of other threads i have to ask, why are we making excuses for jesus / god.. how can you fathom and all powerful god who created the universe and all the laws that govern it was not capable of:.
1. making sure the proper pronunciation of his name is not available.
2. that all his teaching are not preserved in an easy to discern manner so that ther is no confusion.

If Jesus is God/God's son, one day you will have your answers. If he is not, then you will never know. The rest is just white noise.
Believe me, I would love to have some questions answered but I stopped asking people (nobody really knows anyway), and Jesus/God didn speak to me, yet...

trying to convince my wife not to confess...
by wafflesandpancakes induring our engagement, we fooled around and touch each other down there.
it's not a "tap" but definitely is not "stimulation".
i tried to convince my wife, who, after 5 years of marriage, strangely felt guilty all the sudden, that its not do called porneia.

Sorry. Can't help you with the particulars, as I don't discuss these matters with strangers online. That would be almost as weird as talking to elders about what I did with my now-husband when we were dating .

Ask her what does she think it will accomplish? It will only bring embarrassment to you two, and it won't solve anything. Guilt she should bring to God and ask him forgiveness on the bases of Jesus's sacrifice. And bring it to her attention that confession is a Catholic teaching and not based on the Bible. Hopefully that will help.
