Rutherford wrote letters to Hitler? Do you have a link as to where I can view these?
i'm just back from a trip to berlin...the trip was specifically to research the holocaust...anyway...we went to sachenhausen concentration camp on a tour and the guide was exceptional...a military historian...so he asks the group a question:.
" anyone know what colour triangles the jehovah's witnesses had to wear?".
" purple " says i without a blink.. i grieved for all who suffered there and for them too...so many people died there who didn't have a choice...the wtbs forced it on their members...and after reading rutherford's letters to hitler ....it makes me sick....sick to my stomach.. loz x. .

as some of you might know, i was a pioneer for 4 years...two years regular auxillary and two years regular.
for any of you ol' regular pioneers...while in the ministry and you were driving did the others in the car group give you money for gas?
if it was only pioneers out, then of course no one gave anything since everybody generally shared driving.

For any of you ol' regular pioneers...While in the ministry and you were driving did the others in the car group give you money for gas? I only sometimes got gas money. If it was only pioneers out, then of course no one gave anything since everybody generally shared driving. But very few times can I recall getting gas money. I had a large SUV, and driving around every day was a big burden on me for gas. I remember a few people paying me with Watchtowers and Awakes. I can't imagine their reasoning with that one. 1 person even gave me cough drops. REALLY?! A Cough Drop for 9 hours of driving around the territory (Rural Territory)??? Anyway, just my late night thought. Has anyone else experienced this?

i am hoping i can do one in a year or two- any tips would be appreciated.
I'm from the West Coast, so I have yet to do the Appalachian Trail. However, I have done parts of the Pacific Crest Trail. It's unbelievably amazing. I have hiked all of Oregon a small portion of Washington, and all of the Southern California part (from San Gabriel Mountains to Border). Highly recommend.
i have always classified myself as someone who was fairly well read, with a pretty decent vocabulary.
but having been raised in the orwellian "loaded language" of "truthspeak", i found over the past 18 or so months that there is a whole vocabulary out there that i was never exposed to, thanks in part to the wts exquisite information control techniques.
here's a sample of some of the words i had never even heard of before my "awakening":.
Patriotic: The act of One that loves Ones own country.
i was going around with my brother (who is df'd), his wife (unbaptized publisher) and my niece trick or treating this last halloween.
as i was going through the neighborhoods, i noticed a few people with their lights turned off, and being all secluded.
i'm sure they were witnesses.

It's halloween, maybe dress like witnesses and trick or treat with the young ones? What are y'alls thoughts?
was in the city today and saw an old factory with the year of its beginning painted on the wall saying "since 1914", and thought "thats a long time ago".. i believe the teaching of 1914 will slowly fade away and be forgotten in about 10-15years, give or take... it's seriously starting to lose its touch.. millions now living will never buy it.... but since it's a hardcore doctrine of jdubbies and the watchtower used to pinpoint the coming of jesus(invisible), the start of the famous "last days", the 144,000 and part of the reason the govering body have their power, they will have to find a damn good explanation and another alternative.
.
or it could just remain unchanged.... .
I think they will be doing it for quite a long time to come honestly. They seemed to have cleverly bought themselves more time recently. Growing up, I always heard about the convention from way back when entitled, "Millions now living will never die!" They have recently changed it saying it was, "Millions now living may never die!" A huge difference if you ask me. HUGE. However, it's so subtle that not many will pick up on it. Interestingly enough though, in that Watchtower article that mentioned "MAY" and not "WILL", there is a picture from that convention. It's the famous one we all have seen countless times. Of course it's a small size so you need to look closely, but on the photo, it says "WILL" not "MAY". By doing that, they have bought themselves some more time. How much time? Who knows at this point.
I see your point there. I have only known of one person that DA'd himself and came back. Fool.
So I got some information that is new to me. A few months ago my mother sent me an email with a bunch of junk about me telling her 3 years ago that I don't want to be a witness anymore. Let me qoute what the WTS has said about Disassociation:
A person who had willfully and formally disassociated himself from the congregation would have matched that description. By deliberately repudiating God’s congregation and by renouncing the Christian way, he would have made himself an apostate. A loyal Christian would not have wanted to fellowship with an apostate. Even if they had been friends, when someone repudiated the congregation, apostatizing, he rejected the basis for closeness to the brothers. John made it clear that he himself would not have in his home someone who ‘did not have God’ and who was “not of our sort.”
Scripturally, a person who repudiated God’s congregation became more reprehensible than those in the world. Why? Well, Paul showed that Christians in the Roman world daily contacted fornicators, extortioners, and idolaters. Yet he said that Christians must “quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother” who resumed ungodly ways. (1 Corinthians 5:9-11) Similarly, Peter stated that one who had “escaped from the defilements of the world” but then reverted to his former life was like a sow returning to the mire. (2 Peter 2:20-22) Hence, John was providing harmonious counsel in directing that Christians were not to ‘receive into their homes’ one who willfully ‘went out from among them.’—2 John 10.
Then further down this is what pops up...
So our God who requires that an unrepentant wrongdoer be expelled from the congregation also lovingly shows that a sinner can be reinstated in the congregation if he repents and turns around. (A disassociated person can similarly request to become part of the congregation again.) Thereafter he can be comforted by Christians who will confirm their love for him. (2 Corinthians 2:5-11; 7:8-13) Truly, it is just as Paul wrote: “No discipline seems for the present to be joyous, but grievous; yet afterward to those who have been trained by it it yields peaceable fruit, namely, righteousness.”—Hebrews 12:11.
The WTS is saying that a DA'd person is now an apostate. Yet the next paragrapgh shows that a DA'd person that repent and come back. Are they now accepting Apostates???

san diego (cns) - a fire broke out at a church in university heights friday for the second time in 10 days, and arson was suspected, authorities said.. the non-injury fire at kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses in the 2000 block of adams avenue was reported at midnight, according to a san diego fire-rescue dispatcher.
it took firefighters about 15 minutes to knock down the blaze.. a fire was intentionally set at the same structure around 11:55 p.m. dec. 20 by one or more burglars attempting to destroy evidence of a break-in, sd fire-rescue spokesman maurice luque said last week.. damage from last week's fire was estimated at $50,000 to the building and $25,000 to its contents.
I lived in San Diego and watched news cameras report it live. I'm not going to lie, I chuckled....
for prayers from the platform.. i've "said my own" for a few years now if i find i cant agree with what the brother is praying about.
i'm constantly amazed by the same old repetitive ramblings and just nonsense that some brothers feel is an acceptable way to pray for a congregation.. once i've finished saying my own i'll listen again to what they are going on about, and round and round they go.
the worse ones are those who can hardly speak english and i cant understand a word thats said apart from the "...feffull slive... bless bruders sis not here..." blah blah.. and everyone has gone through the public talk prayer.
I never said Amen unless I was giving the prayer on stage, at bookstudy, or service meeting.
