When we were JW's we were living for the ORG [GB] and their pharisaical laws, rules and regulations, putting heavy unessesary burdens and loads on us.

i feel under the weather...
by Snowboarder inhey what's up?
well i feel under the weather don't know how to put it in words.
where to start?

Hi Snowboarder, I am sorry you have been having such a hard time, and that you feel so unhappy, the fact that you feel unhappy and as you said are crying inside could meen you are suffering depression, try and visit your doctor for a check up and tell him/her about it. You need support, try and find somebody that you can talk to and confide in that you trust.
There has been good advice so far I would just like to add that you are still young and have your life ahead of you, don't give up your dreams and what you would like to achieve. Talk to your parents and let them know you feel burnt out and need a break from pioneering to recover your mental energy as it sounds like the pressure is getting too much. They may have no idea just what a struggle you are having.
You still have a very positive outlook, don't stop believing in yourself and that you can achieve the goals you have. So many on this board would love to go back to your age knowing the truth about the ORG. and are trying to retrieve what they have lost.
I wish you well, don't give up. RosePetal

Prayers for my daughter, Ali, not a good update
by coffee_black inmy last update on my daughter was so good...but it didn't turn out that way.
she was cleared to go back to work, but with limitations... she couldn't lift more than 10 pounds.
her employer wanted her back but wouldn't agree to the lifting restriction.

My brother in-law stepped down as a elder due to still seeing his daughter, she is my sisters only child and refused to stop seeing her daughter and grandchildren regularly, going to her home having her in her own home doing all the normal things people do as a family, she was co-erced to write a letter of resignation from the congregation as she had been living with her then boyfriend but then got married. Her parents chose not to attend the wedding which was very painful for them but being an elder put pressure on them to conform.
He ended up stepping down anyway as they are still seeing her and now I see how difficult this is going to be for them as the watchtower keeps putting pressure on them to stop associating with their families, there are so many in this situation, how much more will sincere people take of these bullying tactics and not break.
It is easy to stop associating with me and my family as they see us as dangerous and apostate, even though we made it clear that we have not stop believing in God or his son Jesus Christ, we just don't want to follow men as ' Jesus is the way the truth and the life' and it is to Him we go to, not men.

July 15th WT out - Coming out Swinging at Apostates Hard
by LostGeneration inthis is one of the most aggressive watchtowers i think i have ever read.. four study articles on not "following the crowd" not following unrealities(page 13) not following false teachers, meaning apostates of course(p 15).
avoiding false teachers means "refusing to read their literature, watch tv programs that feature them, examine their web sites, or add comments to their blogs.
(para 7, pg 16).

Hi bez, sorry you are so upset, you really need to chill out and put all this behind you and be happy with your own little precious family, build a bubble around yourselves that others cannot penetrate, I have tried this with my little family and it works.
I find a blend of aromatherapy oils that relax and uplift do wonders for me, spend an evening pampering yourself, give each other a lovely massage, and work out some fun days to spend together as a family. Shove everything that is negetive out, what ever any of them think or want to think or say about you does'nt matter a hoot. You and your family's happiness is what is most important. Don't let them spoil it.
I made up my mind to do this and it really works, start afresh and make new friends and new and different places you visit. Try and avoid any situations where you will hear horrible gossip or negetive comments about you or your family. SHUT THEM OUT.
Sending you Love and best wishes RosePetal

Here i am....
by makersmark inhere i am - born in truth, hard-core spiritual everything all my life, early reg.pioneer, ms, elder, assembly parts, tour at bethel, etc, married now...... i'm trying to examine jw teachings a little closer...... i've spent the last two weeks reading many many posts, info , references on where ex-jw's are coming from.
i'm kind of concerned about a few things lately..... honestly - some points make sense to me - some don't - here are my general thoughts:.
-wt getting un membership for access to library - doesnt bother me - some passports and other governement documents have similar forms and requirements..... -blood issue - some counterpoints to the jw 'rules' makes sense (original intent of scripture is unbled animals, white blood cells similar in mothers milk) etc -however a lot of 'apostate' reasonings and proof are inaccurate.

Welcome makers mark hope you enjoy the board warts and all! The WT societies unwashed.
I don’t usually post myself but am using my wife Rosepetal’s profile to post this. Mr Bumble.
Many Jehovah’s witnesses past and present know very little or nothing about their own history, other than what they are told to read in the watchtower literature, such as the Proclaimers book, jw history. Although it’s right people should be allowed to listen to any organisation that claims it knows it’s own history, like most organisations the watchtower society is not immune to propaganda and jw’s should be allowed to recognised that. On the other hand it does not serve the interest of truth to listen to it’s opponents without proof to expose it’s misleading interpretation of the facts of it‘s own history.
Fortunately documental proofs are many which most jw’s are either unaware of, or simply too fearful to examine, being told that whatever information originating from the world is misleading, or if it comes from so called apostates is out right lies to be avoided with the threat of council and discipline.
All too often when jw’s are presented with evidence, usually on door to door work, any older doctrines presented as proofs of doctrinal error or failed predictions is immediately dismissed [ known or unknown to them] almost proudly stating “we do not believe that any more, it’s irrelevant we have new light”.[ I was a witness for over twenty five years, guilty as charged.]
Is old Doctrine still relevant today? It’s true the society of Russell’s religion bears very little resemblance to the religion of Rutherford, however there is a core element that remains the same.
As nugget so eloquently put it, the difference is problematic as the watchtower organisation claims it was chosen by God particularly after 1919 AD and it’s past doctrine should be held up high as proof of Gods choosing of them, not watered down, played down or of little importance today despite changes that have occurred due to failed predictions, or changes of internal politics. Any organisation stands or falls on it’s foundation. Denying it’s members the true undiluted history enables the watchtower society to keep control over many sincere individual who only want to serve God in spirit and truth, the watchtower has betrayed their misguided trust.
