ok yesterday i was talking to my dad (moe's thread reminded me) he said something about how bad satan was...and said, yeah but "wasn't it eve and adam's fault?

i mean yeah satan laid out the sales pitch but they could have said no.

you know gone home, talked it over with god, it wasn't even that high pressured a sales pitch.

Shepherding call after 7yrs

i have been df since early 1995 and have never had the so called follow up visit by any elders.. saturday night i had a visitor.

it was a jw friend i have known for a very long time.

he was my best man and vice versa many years ago.

To The Field! Umm, Maybe Not..

even after all these years away from dubbism, i still get a buzz each sunday morning when i awake and think "no field service ever again!".

i appreciate that it's now called something along the lines of "engaging in the ministry" or similar, back then we simply "went on the work".

god, how i loathed it.. so tomorrow, instead of door-bashing and meeting attending, i will do what i want to do.

first off i would like to welcome you here- as you can see we have a varied cross section of folks here in the community center.. i would like to commend you for at least being brave enough to come to this site and setup an account and post for more than 4- post as well as read amazing very long life story.. would you be willing to share with us what moved you to come to this site in view of what the org teaches on this issue of being in forums like this>.

Happy man. I admire your honesty in at least being able to say youve found wrong in the society. Most won't even say that. But to say that It is less wrong does not take away the fact that it is still wrong. This "Yes, but what else is there" saying is one I've heard many times. O.k, tell me where the jw's are more right than, say, the b'hai or the buddhists.

Next, you say look at whats happened in the world. Go here http://silentlambs.org. Tell me where what's happened in the world is much worse than child rape, find a worse crime. Allowing it to continue, w/ counsel like"Read our publications more & go out in service". That does not help! Tell my brother "Look what's happened in the world." The world has been kinder to him. Tell me that . I want an answer.

She's in Hospital

i dropped off liza at the hospital today.

bad mojo at first.

her assessment appointment was at 10am, we showed up at 9:40 and were the only clients in the waiting room.

Good for you, man! Just cuz shes cheated etc., doesnt mean you cant help her. It also does'nt mean you have to stay w/ her romantically or have to sleep w/ her. You can gont. to help as much as you want w/ out putting yourself in danger, & I mean emotionally, not physically. Or, go for it if that's what you want, I still dig ya no matter what!
