Why JW marriage is a huge problem for the organization.

the difficulty of finding a marriage mate is well known for sisters.

but i would say it's hard for brothers also.

i was talking to a jw last night.

I would add that the jw system of courtship is flawed. To always have a chaperone hanging around doesn't allow the potential couple to get to know the person. I know a few that had big surprises after the wedding. Not in a good way either.

The elder who is timid and can't say no is usually the secretary. If there is a pioneer elder he is the service overseer. The bully/ahole is usually the COBE.

WT Society holds EXTREME Responsibility for 1975 and False Expectations

however- many jw's who have come into the jw organization from like 1985 forward virtually may have no knowledge of the wt society's 1975 debacle and false predictions of the end times or armageddon predictions.

just like in in the book 1984 by george orwell the wt society has a way of not only erasing it's history so no newer witnesses will be aware of their false predictions, but also they are re-writing their history as if those false predictions never happened.. so for those of you here who may have never read or heard of how whipped up into an emotional frenzy witnesses were in the years just before 1975 by the wt society claiming the end was any day now- this threads for you.

to see the pressure that was put on jw's by the wt society to get rid of everything before " armageddon " .

My mom lived through the whole thing and denies that the society ever mentioned anything about 1975

Hebrews 10:25

i was asked recently by a still in friend (it was meant sincerely not sarcastically).

"but what do you do with that scripture so far as not attending meetings?".

i typed hebrews 10:25 in to the search bar but didnt get much.. .

I am surprised that they never changed the wording for the new new world translation to "do not miss the meetings".

The way to reason on this scripture is the word forsake. Do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together. The word forsake means to abandon completely. So if a person goes to say half the meetings has he forsaken the gathering of yourselves together. No.

This scripture would apply if a person never, ever went to a meeting.
