Life After the Being Separate from the World
by yodastar inrealised that after leaving many years ago i don't have much of a social circle!!
has anyone else realised that we were not taught to be good in social circles except those that were approved associates?.
i recently went to a birthday party of a 45 year old guy and thought wow - this is what it is like to have formed a healthy social circle.

Great opening post. I have had similar feelings as yours. I know it is irrational to think that everybody is picking on me but that is the way I was raised too. One of my parents couldn't get enough of telling me I was useless. I was forced to attend three meetings a week where i was also told I was useless.
I am now mentally out and associate a lot with non Jws. I am finding out that they are for the most part decent non judgmental people. They don't pressure me to do things I am not comfortable with.

A new low in public shaming (and groveling)
by Captain Schmideo2 ina local elderette at my former hall (the same type person who posts selfies while out in "service") posted this public admonishment.
the responses are so pathetic.
these are all adults, but they still act like scared children:.

he would comment about me during the WT session without mentioning my name.
The last congregation I was in had a bozo elder like that He would describe my life to a T in his public talks implying that it was unchristian to live like that but he didn't have the balls to say anything to my face. Gutless ax hole I always ignored what he said assuming it was about someone else.

The True God of Jehovah's Witnesses...Unity
by freemindfade ini was unable to sleep because of my ongoing turmoil with my family and my wife's ongoing naivety about what they are trying to accomplish.
and i came to another thought about this group, the witnesses.
they say "i put jehovah first!!

Yep it's conformity. The leaders of this religion can't handle it if someone thinks differently than the rest of the herd.
It is just like a franchise. All of the mcdonalds stores and walmarts look the same no matter where you are. It is the same thing as the jehovahs witnesses.

Sounds like she trying to shame people for not showing up to clean the hall. It won't work because when next years memorial rolls around ( unless this year is the last) people will have forgotten about the guilt.

Memorial Invitation campaign—A bitter experience
by economy inlast year when i went to distribute memorial invitation, i had a bad time talking to a house-holder who happened to be an ex-nun.
she said: you are wasting your time.
jesus had no idea that his death would have a sin-atoning value (which is of course a later invention by later theologians.

21 Years as an Elder, 5 as an MS, I will never be that guy again.
by James Jack ini was deleted as the cobe after i let my adult child move back home and he admitted that he fornicated under my roof while my wife and i where away on a rbc project.
of course the elder mode in me kicked him out of the house.. the elders moved quickly to remove me because i was too involved in "theocractic activities", i had neglected my adult son.. i accepted this primarily because i didn't want to serve with a boe that did not want me.
i was devastated however because it was the only life i knew.

It seems like one or more of the elders had some hornets up their ass and were looking for an excuse to get you off the elder body. You are not responsible for what your adult children do.

How do you feel about religion as a whole?
by FatherFirst init just seems to me religion in general primarily makes truly bad people worse, not genuinly good people better; and in many cases has even made good people do bad things in the name of their religion.
just curious, a personal poll if you will.
what are you guys' current views on religion as a whole?

The watchtower is one sick dysfunctional family. There are no such thing as personal boundaries in the watchtower religion.
Perhaps the elders are behind this brother interfering in your family. He is over stepping his boundary and you are letting him. I am not criticizing you for letting this happen because this is watchtower "normal". Until now this was normal to you. It is NOT normal behaviour.
You have the scriptural right to be the head if your house and call the shots. This bozo is trying to be the head of YOUR family.
My advice to you is find a watchtower article about proper headship and scriptures to back it up and tell this guy to buzz off.
