It is virtue signalling. Making an external appearance of spirituality. It is the same as wearing a convention badge to the zoom meeting last summer to be seen by others. It is the same as having a visible share in the ministry when we used to go door to door.

So a person with the earthly hope can at any time proclaim themselves anointed and be appointed to the governing body. Is the collateral damage acceptable? 2-4 % of convictions are overturned as being erroneous. Is it socially acceptable and beneficial to sacrifice a small percentage of innocent persons to protect the majority of law abiding Americans?

They should hold a referendum on the subject and keep the names of those who support the idea. Every time an innocent person is proven beyond a doubt that they were wrongly executed, the government should pick a name of a death penalty supporter at random and execute that person.

We have governments to thank for protecting their populations, as well financing and distributing the vaccines which is going to put their populations back to a state of normalcy.
