Many JW couples pioneer when they are younger and by the time they are in their early 40s it is too late and they are too broke to raise kids anyway.

then fast forward to 26:50 thru 27:65 max bellyaches to new wife (olivia's mother) & it's handled!

i’ll go first.. in a previous congregation we had a pioneer couple that have since gone on to be gilead graduates and are now either in circuit work or translation.
they checked all the boxes off the societies list so they were exemplary.

In a previous congregation we had a pioneer couple that have since gone on to be Gilead graduates and are now either in circuit work or translation. They checked all the boxes off the societies list so they were exemplary. Regular pioneers, elder with an exceptional speaking ability, volunteers on quick build halls when that was a thing and interviewed on the assemblies and conventions.
Except when it came to their interactions with the little people like brother and sister Hoser. I would have to label them as condescending, entitled users. They still owe us money. We filled in for them on their cleaning job and had an agreed upon compensation. The night they were supposed to be back they phone me at 10 pm and want me to go clean as they were still visiting friends. Being the gullible sucker I was at the time I went and did their job even though I had to be at my regular work early Monday morning.
It was all good until I didn’t get paid. I badgered them for a couple weeks and finally got a check that they purposely mis spelled my name so that I couldn’t cash it.
In these circumstances the small people are screwed as you “can’t take your brother to court” and none of the elders will help you as your claim is viewed as frivolous and unbelievable because this brother and sister are circuit stars and they would never do such a thing. I was told even if they didn’t pay you Jehovah is still pleased as indirectly you are supporting kingdom interests.

Beards- just told by an elder
by dothemath ini know this subject has been talked about lots over the years, just thought i would share a recent finding from canada.. while visiting with a group of friends, an elder (don’t recall how the subject came up) mentioned the local body had voted to allow brothers with beards be allowed to give talks from the platform.
(it was a very close vote).
the direction given was for each congregation to decide for themselves if that is now acceptable.. so some congregations will be for, and for many it will not.. it’ll probably be a long time before we see any pictures on the watchtower where they’re allowing this though..

The little people always suffer the most. CEOs and religious fraudsters have the gift of making people feel great while they are getting screwed.
The watchtower can buy up and renovate properties for literally nothing. This is how it goes:
1. Watchtower land man finds distressed property with a great upside potential.
2. Watchtower has a governing body update about the “need” in that area where the above mentioned property is located.
3. Old ladies donate their dead husbands money to the watchtower thinking somehow it will make up for all the meetings he missed while working shift work at a factory.
4. Watchtower purchases property.
5. Watchtower puts out call for volunteer construction workers who willingly do renovations as they can get hour credits for their pioneering service. Swinging a hammer is easier than knocking on doors.
6. Watchtower has another governing body update as they need more funds
to pay out a pedophile victimfor the renovations. Mom’s donate their grocery money and kids go without ice cream.7. Luxury property is finally finished. Watchtower has a retired circuit overseer maintain the yard for potential viewings by buyers.
8. Translation office is sold as per “Jehovah’s direction” and a different language group has a “need”.
It isn’t hard to make money in the real estate business if your labour, land, real estate agent, maintenance and capital gains taxes are all free and it really makes the little people feel good about themselves to be part of something bigger.

Could this be a JW media venture?
by neat blue dog ini'm wondering if this is another step in wt branching out into attempting to profit through media production.
last year they already registered their hollywood style company "jw studios" as an llc, unlike their other corporations which are non-profit.. ( more information on that here: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5740817149853696/jw-studios-llc-commercial-purposes ).
now, i see this video of a wt spokesman.

It looks like legal learning studio is offering CLE credits for legal professionals so they can maintain their licence to practice law. It looks like the watchtower or one of their subsidiaries is an accredited university.
