we had a letter read this afternoon after the watchtower study that said we had 54,408 auxillary pioneers in april and with the regular pioneers it totaled 64,855 in full time preaching in april.
57% of the publishers.. so my guess is that the co will come down hard on any congregation that didn't meet those numbers next april.. i think the 30 hour thing had it's desired effect.. hoser.

do any of us want to believe we have no sense of humor?.
or, would we want to believe we were boring and our opinions were silly mush?.
why would we seek to believe nothing we do matters and that we are just taking up space and using up air?.
You hit the nail right on the head Terry!
they choose their miserable existence

this brother was sitting near me today at the hall and when the public speaker started talking about the signs of the last days this guy started whispering something to his wife and kind of mocking the speaker in a quiet voice.
his wife looked really pissed off.. i've suspected this guy before by some of the stuff he's said and done and some of the #3 talks hes given he's gone off the assigned topic quite a bit.. during the wt study i was doing mics and i happened to walk by him several times.
his wt was on the floor and his bible was opened to topic for conversation at the end of the bible at the last days part.. a little while later his wife gave him the look and said something to him and he picked up his unprepared wt and followed along.. hoser.
@RagingBull
the goatee thing reminded me that when he first moved to our hall he had a goatee but he shaved it shortly after and the elders gave him privelges

I really don't know the guy were in different service groups and I don't go out every week, I imagine hes not a ball of fire for the ministry either so we really don't see each other that much and I've only talked to him a couple of times in the last year

i was at a friend's house the other day and noticed on the refrigerator that they were scheduled for a talk on the tms.
it is for the week of july 25 and entitled:.
"why none of the demons are atheist (jas 2:19)".
The idiot we have scheduling ours sure knows how to pick the students.
One time a talk on masterbation- assigned to a 14 year old boy
a talk on immoral conduct - assigned to a young woman that had been recently reinstated
she was DF'd for you guessed it immorality
she at least had the common sense not to show up to deliver her talk

FatFreek 2005 this should answer your question:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hoser is both a slang term and a stereotype, originating from and used primarily in Canada. [ 1 ] It is not often used by Canadians, but it is sometimes used as "typical" Canadian slang by those imitating Canadians, similar to the expression "eh?" The term "hoser" gained popularity from the comedic skits by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas (also known as Bob and Doug McKenzie) in SCTV's "The Great White North" segments. [ 2 ]
Like the very similar term hosehead, the term may have referred to farmers of the Canadian prairies, who would siphon gas from farming vehicles with a hose during the Great Depression of the 1930s. [citation needed] The expression has since been converted to the verb 'to hose' as in to trick, deceive, or steal - for example: "That card-shark sure hosed me." Hosed has an additional meaning of becoming drunk - for example: "Let's go out and get hosed." Another possible origin is derived from hockey slang. Before ice resurfacers, the losing team in a hockey game would have to hose down the rink after a game. Thus the term "hoser" being synonymous with "loser".
A hoser's flannel shirt may also be referred to as a "Kenora dinner jacket". (Some regional variations of this term also exist, usually substituting a hoser-stereotyped local community's name in place of Kenora.) [ 3 ]

I can't find the reference but a couple of years ago they put out a call in the KM for 20000 auxillary pioneers for April and they fell short by a couple thousand.
I guess if you lower your standards you can reach your goals

I caught this one on CNN too. Isn't it funny that JW's hype up the fact that they are separate from the world, when in fact many, many members of other religions have given up many freedoms to hold to their faith. Mennonites, Hutterites, doukabours many others were in prison instead of doing military or alternate service.
