Like Canada New Zealand has become a libtarded country. Rule of law is not enforced, criminals are given more rights than their victims and the unfortunate bastards that work for a living foot the bill.

I thought New Zealand was a DECENT country!
by The Fall Guy ina criminal in nz- in this case a murderer - has the right not to be identified - even after conviction?
quote: "why was grace millane’s murderer granted anonymity?
the reasons for the so-called suppression order, like the name of the killer himself, cannot be given for legal reasons.

It took me some time to accept the reality of my own mortality but it sure feels good to know that I too won’t get out of this world alive. I don’t fear death. I only fear the uncertainty of the manner of my demise. I don’t want to go slow and painful, I would like an unexpected sudden heart attack or massive deadly stroke as my killer.
Knowing I will die helps me to be frugal with my time as it is a limited commodity. Someone famous once said “don’t squander time because that’s the stuff life is made of”.
I am a born in pimo lucky enough to break free from the mental chains of the watchtower cult.

Unwritten, congregational 'rules'
by Thetruthhurts inwhat were some of yours?
the big one in our hall was no frontal hugs!
these were generally thought of as inappropriate, only side hugs should be given between sisters and brothers.

If you are a nobody and you have a progressive bible study, you are “encouraged” to hand your study over to a pioneer so they can show the study off next circuit assembly.

Why do Americans have to pay so much for College???
by RubaDub ini know there is a huge college/university lobby here in the us that lives off of students paying, in some cases, enormous amounts of money just to attend.. putting politics aside, if that is possible, (and i am not a bernie sanders guy by any means), but how can we pay for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, elementary school, junior high, high school, and then throw a huge debt to someone who wants to continue learning?
can't the us (public and state universities) afford four more years for young people to get on a career path without having to, in some cases, take out a mortgage/loan more than the cost of some homes?
then, (and nothing against immigrants, i am married to one), but then the us has to "import" students from other countries to fill the needs that we should be supplying here.

The “degree is important for success” meme is complete bullshit. Your work matters more than your education when it comes to success. Showing up, being on time, producing and generally being a reliable employee goes miles farther towards success than a degree.
There is a bit of truth here. I am a businessman with no formal business education. If I am doing something wrong my income statement and banker will tell me. I don’t need a degree to tell me. My business education has consisted of observing others successes and failures and acting accordingly.
One thing I have observed is the consistency that university has drilled into their business students. I can usually figure out the university grads I deal with fairly quickly. They all think and talk the same.

Truck driver Western Canada. $100,000 CAD per year
Farm equipment operator $35.00 per hour
Industrial Electrician $50.00 per hour
None require degree but a lot of grunt work required.
But we still need college folks to tell the rest of us dumb fucks how to live

Well said mr mustard. You have clearly progressed from sleeping in the park and shaving in the dark.
Government interference is what ruins businesses and a healthy economy.
Our new finance minister much to the chagrin of the lefty’s has changed the funding model for universities in our province. The government will only fund programs where there is clear indication that the economy needs that training. For example our province needs 10,000 truck drivers. There is funding of $5000 of the $9000 it costs for training. If you want your gender studies degree you can pay it out of your pocket.

Does a $50,000 per year Harvard degree get you a better paying job than a $10,000 per year community college degree? If so, how many years does it take to recoup the extra tuition costs?
If Harvard degrees pay better dividends then try to get schooled at Harvard.

Is part of the problem the social prestige connected with having a fancy university degree? Does that drive up the cost? Do universities charge what the market will bear?

If the Chinese offered an equivalent education for a lower overall price why wouldn’t you send your kid there? They should be rewarded for their efficiencies.

Interesting comment rub a dub.
The taxpayer pays for basic education to grade 12 here in Canada. My parents and their neighbours paid for my education by paying their property taxes.
A society needs people who can read, write and rithmatic.
Whatever schooling you do after that is your own business. You should take a loan, finance it by planting trees in the summer, or your parents or sugar daddy/momma can pay. You should make more money with a degree than high school and easily be able to pay for the extra school. If not do something else.
edited to add.
I agree with simons chart. The government should stay out of business. They seem to be good at creating false incentives.
