  Is it really any different than a business giving a willing worker title of “manager” then effectively cutting his wages by putting him on a salary

  the major topic of conversation was that almost all do not want to go back to the meetings and field service!

  and we are talking very zealous and active witnesses!

  I think the governing body are aware of that so the guilting and shaming must begin.

  The governing body update number 9 is about how great the governing body is and why we should go back to meetings if we are approved to do so. They also mentioned “look how nice we are as we will have both zoom and physical meetings”.

  Once the physical meetings start up they will do their best to task the middle managers( elders) to shame the proletariat to attend physical meetings.

  The governing body are well aware that they can’t stop zoom cold turkey or most of the dubs will quit. They need to arrange things to get the elders and publishers to coerce the hold outs to come back to the meetings.

  Peer pressure works well and others do your dirty work for you.

  Many don’t see the caste system in the jw religion though. It’s all about appearing spiritual, the org even references “having a visible share in the ministry”. Most don’t see how badly they’re being f&*#ed over by this religion.

  It uses up a lot of life’s resources(both money and time) to be a somebody in the organization. And you are still a nobody because they moved the goalposts on you again.

  To be part of the club you need to drive the right car(four doors), take the right vacation (international conventions or bethel tours)and have an approved spouse(elder or pioneer)

  jesus had foretold that people of "last days" would “faint out of fear” because of things such as “sea-level rise’ as part of “signs of last days” in luke 21:25. bible translators—including new world translation of jehovah’s witnesses—missed the real meaning as they translated it as “roaring of the sea and its agitation.” (https://www.jw.org/en/library/bible/nwt/books/luke/21/).

  more careful translations such as niv put it: “roaring and tossing of the sea.” (https://biblehub.com/luke/21-25.htm) word for “tossing” is σάλου (salou), from saino; i.e., billow,” (swell outwards).

  thus underlying thought is like balloon swelling, or water flowing outwards, as though ready to roll over, thus points to the modern terminology “sea-level rise.” biblos interlinear translation (int:) translates it as “of [the] sea and rolling surge.” “rolling sea.” (a greek lexicon to the new testament, edward robinson (d.d., page 416) (a greek lexicon to the new testament on the basis of dr. robinson ... by c. robson).. jesus’ original use of the wording “tossing of the sea” is another way of saying “sea-level would rise” as a result of pollution of air.

  I would have to agree with you on this one. Fear of climate change sells.

  The watchtower should look at trying to recruit climate change fanatics. They would be a good fit in the religion.

  Thanks for your comments Victor. Social class is the elephant in the room for many people and some don’t even understand how it all works. There is a reason they don’t teach this stuff in high school. There would be total societal chaos.

  This is a vital part of life where ignorance isn’t bliss. People squander their entire lives trying to be someone in organizations be it work, clubs or religion and only serve to enrich their masters.

  i saw a statistic the other day that something like 25% of all the debt that the us has incurred since 1776 was created in the last 12 months.

  that's because they have printed so much currency and instead of letting that stop them, they are going to continue printing more to go on a spending spree on crazy green-new-deal schemes and union handouts.. does anyone think that this can be anything other than inflationary?

  they are effectively stealing the wealth of everyone to then hand money out to people.

  Jehovah’s witnesses create their own persecution. They bring it on themselves by following the policies of the leadership. The leadership uses this to create more fear and keep the loyalty of the publishers.

  after watchtower got banned in russia and buildings seized, lot's jws said russia would be punished.

  org kept losing in court with child abuse cases.

  It’s like when Kodak doubled down on film cameras and Sears doubled down on brick and mortar shopping.

  the other night, my wife and i were driving through a upscale suburb with old, large, beautiful homes.

  there is one house that my never jw she really likes.

  as we drove by the house, i turned to her and said, "that's your armageddon house.

  The Poor the Wealthy and the Middle Class

  the poor spendthe middle-class savethe wealthy invest.

  the unique circumstances of the lockdown and stimulus checks has highlighted these differences in stark ways.. on one hand, you have jumps in sales and valuation of companies like foot locker and nike, as people spend their "free" government money on sneakers.

  The middle class spend too much time and money being middle class. It costs money and takes time to maintain social status. That’s why they are going nowhere financially.

  It is much like being a Jehovah’s Witness in good standing. You have to do all the right things(aux pioneer, be elder, go to international conventions) to keep your status. This keeps them tired and broke.

  Every society needs slaves and that’s what the little people are. It’s rigged up to use our human nature against us to keep us on the treadmill all the while thinking we are free and somehow better than the next guy who lives in a little bit smaller house than we do.
