  Can you recommend some movies/videos?

  an ex-jw meetup group i attended just watchted worlds apart together and the host wants to do this type of thing more often.. i would love to see religulous, but the group would be divided on such a movie.. i suggested the documentary, jesus camp and september dawn.. do you have any suggestions i can pass along?.

  "Case 39" with Renee Zellwigger (sp?) Awesome! Rent it even without the others. It's a New Release.

  "Devil" - New Release ... setting 5 people are stuck in an elevator. One of them is the Devil. Awesome ...

  Both of these movies will make the whiskers on your face stand straight up. They are not the least bit cheesy as some thrillers are. Trust me, I gasped out loud during "Case 39" and my wife will tell you I have a pretty high tolerance and am not easily shaken. It made me realize I still have some belief left in me. If you believe in the one, you have to believe in the other. Bwahahahahaaaa................

  Verifiable Former Bethelite Willing to Answer questions

  i am a former active poster here, former elder, former bethelite and pretty much known by people on the xjw boards since the mid 90's.

  gawd that makes me sound old.. i notice that a great deal of uproar is being made by allegations of a hide in the closet alleged bethelite.

  to counter the damage caused by this claim, i am happy to address any questions people may have about bethel, protocol, etc.. i was at the canada branch for 11 years, worked in multiple areas including the legal department, service desk and writing dept.

  Yes indeed Uzzah. After posting to you I searched his name and found his user id. I just sent him a PM. He was a scholar indeed. The last time I visited Frank in Toronto I think he spoke 6 or 7 languages. If I remember right he was working on Italian then. Both he and his wife gave their lives to the service of the WTBTS. Frank and Dianne went way back with my family. Unfortunately when my family got Frank's letter about leaving the organization only my father read it and then threw it in the trash. We were forbidden to pull it out and read it. Keep in mind that until that moment Frank was held in the highest of esteem with my family. All we were told was that he had become an "apostate". I remember thinking to myself, "As smart as Frank is (speaking all those languages and years of service in N.Y. and Toronto) ....why would he be leaving if there wasn't something seriously wrong? Then 20 years or so later in my search for the truth about "The Truth" I found that letter online. Ironic that it came full circle when it was needed.

  If you (or anyone else here that reads this) has contact with him, ask him to sign in and check his messages.

  Restraining order against me from my JW Wife

  i left jw two months ago and since then my life has almost been a lifetime movie.

  Could you ever go back?

  not that i'm thinking about it, even for a brief nano-second, but something i have thought about is this, is there any way you could go back and not have people look at you with the stink eye?

  after admitting your true feelings, how in the world could people ever look at you the same?

  if you were in the situation of welcoming someone back, would you be able to look past the errors?

  There is NOTHING that could ever get me to go back - even for one meeting - short of God himself telling me to do so. That said, I doubt I'll ever see the inside of a Kingdom Hall again unless I look back at pictures from the past.

  you really can't make this stuff up.

  but an organization like the wt society bent on controlling virtually every aspect of the typical jehovah's witness life - would make this up to keep their control through the use of fear and guilt.

  so- i thought i'd share what i thought was the strangest, most offensive, weird language dealing with what the wt society calls " disfellowshipping offenses " .
