RE: License tags -
I may be able to help...
Send the plate number to [email protected].
I will look there later today to get it.
I know someone who knows someone... and we may be able to determine the owner of this vehicle.

we are still trying to put an end to this stalker stuff.
so far there still is not enough hard evidence for the police to do anything, but that white car that we saw checking us out the night we were parked outside watching our son's house has been back in the neighborhood and we now have the license tag number.
the problem is i can't find a web site where i can check out who the car belongs to without paying $100.

Windy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Thanks for the update on Cassi. I was thinking about her a few minutes ago... but don't like bothering folks on the phone.
It's still raining here... oops, wrong thread to put this. <wink>

i noticed that in september 2001 there was a change in the contact adress in the jw literature.. for example, awake!
september 8th, 2001 says on page 5: would you welcome more information?
write watch tower at the appropriate adress.
"...incase the Great Trib started, there would be no way for the governments to find all the dubs."
Nowadays, it is much easier to 'find' people via the Internet. We all leave tracks wherever we go. The Internet is no exception.

does anyone remember how the society joined the "disco sucks" movement of the late 70's?
i remember reading in the mags about how disco was created by homos and that it has an "immoral beat" (whatever that means!
) it was also mentioned not to go see "saturday night fever" because someone gets a blowjob in the movie.. in our congregation, we had a special meeting about disco because people would request disco songs at our once-a-month jw skating party at the local skating rink.
Ummmm... yeah... I remember the disco era.
I also remember Saturday Night Fever. I took Cheryl Davis to see that movie - her parents knew which movie we went to see, too. (My first date, to - if I recall correctly - gawd was she gorgeous... and tall, too - 6'4" - blonde, green eyes.)
(Why is Disco Inferno going through my mind right now? - 24 minutes - the whole side of one album - which is in storage somewhere.)
I also wanted to learn how to 'Disco Dance' - or whatever. So I went down and signed up at one of those Fred Astaire Dance Studios that were popular and local. I told them up front that I wanted to learn Disco. Ok, they said.
So, they taught me the Fox Trot, Rhumba, Cha Cha, Waltz, East Coast Swing (or is it West Coast Swing...??), etc... but no Disco.
I even went to one of their 'competition' thingies north of here in Austin - and took First Place (now, where did I put that ribbon?) in the Cha Cha competition.
I eventually ran outta money, and quit taking the dance lessons.
Skating Parties - they had those here too. Monday evenings. I tried to make every one that I could. But I worked a late shift - Midnight to 8am - and it was really difficult to go party hearty - and then show up at work for an 8 hour stint.
And, yes... I seem to remember a bit of Disco music being played at those skating parties... it was really difficult to convince the DJ's at them to play 'Kingdom Melodies' - and even harder to 'skate' to them. <shudder>
It was even more difficult to find someone 'couple skate' with... so usually sat those out.
Ahhhh... the 'younger' years.

so, whats the straw that broke the camels back in your life?
what was the final last straw that made you say thats it- no more?
i have so many-for 15 years i kept getting that last straw-and trying to ignore it- but i think the last straw was when my dad died- everyone kept (keeps) giving me the line of bs about never seeing him again unless i go to meetings.
No 'straw that broke the camels' back' here... I just kinda drifted away.
Ummm... SpiderMonkey... you said...
"...call me on the phone w/in the next 5 minutes."
You realize of course, that since according to the JWs ' a day is as a thousand years', you need to wait about 28.8 years for that phone call... don't you? (ok ok ok - I'm joking.)

i think i mentioned this some time ago but never had time to do anything about it.
i'm thinking of offering merchandise on the site for a bit of fun and also to help with the site expenses (although i don't expect it to generate a huge amount).
i think catchy logo's and phrases are the best.
"Witchtower... Been there, Done that, Bought the T-Shirt."
(Or a variation thereof...)
Witchtower - you're Damned if yur DF'ed, you're Damned if you're DA'ed.
(Ok - a tad strong, I'll agree.)

my daughter was in the backseat.
i was completely stopped-due to oncomming traffic.
i was going to turn left.
Cappucino,
I do not have any advice for making you feel better. Sorry.
Other than - go hug your little girl. A BIG hug.
You are fortunate that you were not hurt worse that you are. (Not much consolation, since you are obviously in pain right now.)
Chiming in with what others are already saying - go get X-Rays, or whatever is needed to make sure that you are not hurt more than you realize.
Cars can be replaced. People cannot.
And remember to always buckle up.

many of you know what a year i have been having... .
things got a wee bit worse for me... .
i work for a non-profit membership based high-technology corporation.
Amanda,
Do not get too 'down' about it - always try to see the bright side of things (might that be 'new light'?).
I know what it is like to be jobless... been outta steady employment since November last year.
Somehow... not sure how... I have been making it so far. <fingers crossed>
<ok - toes crossed too>
If you need anything - you have my e-mail.

Take care.

i was laying in bed last night thinking how lucky i am that i havent had to undergo the mental torture of attending the district convention.
then i started reminiscing about the old days and i suddenly remembered those ridiculous tickets you had to buy to pay for food.
they were those brown cheap cardboard type efforts with i think 10 tickets per sheet.
Just a thought on this...
Yes, I remember these 'tickets'.
I think that part of the reason for them, well... besides the WTBTS trying to be a 'control-freak' org. was that they may have been trying to eliminate the actual handling of cash by the 'workers'.
Perhaps, there were cases where not all of the cash was making it to the cash drawer?
Perhaps, their 'help' didn't know how to count?
Perhaps, in the 'heat' of the rush - there were several poor workers who paniced?
I think that sometimes, the WTBTS tries 'experiments' on membership 'control'. This may have been one of those.

just a bit of fluff...what's your favourite men's cologne or women's perfume scent?.
have you ever got a gentle wiff of a really nice cologne and wanted to ask the owner what the name of it is??
if its a woman i will ask, only because i want to go out and buy some.
Good topic Beck,
Men - my cologne
Pi by Givenchy
Women - my fav to smell... well, in the past (haven't smelt it in a while)
Estee - by Estee Lauder
I used to have a 10th grade English teacher who wore this. (I think I had a crush on her.)
I could smell this fragrance on a woman from 50 paces. It usually had the effect of making me kinda weak in my knees, it was so powerful.
It took me a while to get up the nerve to ask a lady who wore this fragrance, what it was. (I was afraid that she would think I was being too forward.)
When I found out, I went and bought some for my girlfriend. Same effect. Nice.

Jim TX
