  Got a call from my older sister...

  last saturday, i was at home - minding my own business, and the phone rings.. of course, i have caller-id (great invention!

  ), and can see that it is from my mom's house - where the remaining siblings live... all three of them.. i answer the phone, "hello?".

  "hello, jim - this is pri*****", says the other voice - of my older sister.. "yes... how are you?".

  Good question Sally,

  At my mom's funeral earlier this year, I distinctly heard my sister tell Aunt Ruth...

  "Well, now that we aren't tied down anymore, we will come visit you." (Paraphrased)

  I knew it was a lie. To be honest... I don't know why they won't go visit... or even call her.

  Aunt Ruth is a dear sweet old lady who is 92 years old. She is my dad's sister. She is Mormon... but that shouldn't prevent one from visiting a relative... should it?

  I figure that they don't go visit because they are just too wrapped up in their own pitiful little lives to take the time to do so.

  We all do that to a certain extent, I suppose.

  Oh. But the next time I saw Aunt Ruth... I told HER about my conversation with my sister, and asked her if she had gotten any phone call from her. "No... I haven't." was her reply. I didn't think my sister would call.

  My sister is only good at making excuses. Next funeral... my aunt Ruth's, perhaps... "Well cousin... I'm so sorry that we didn't get to visit aunt Ruth... but now we can come visit you." *lie detector on full tilt*

  Last Saturday, I was at home - minding my own business, and the phone rings.

  Of course, I have caller-ID (Great Invention!), and can see that it is from my mom's house - where the remaining siblings live... all three of them.

  I answer the phone, "Hello?"

  "Hello, Jim - this is Pri*****", says the other voice - of my older sister.

  "Yes... How are you?"

  "Fine. I would like to invite you to come to the talk tomorrow. J-- will be giving his first talk from the platform."

  J-- is my youngest brother. Born in 1960, he is about... well... must be going on 44 right about now. Never married... been a JW for most of his life - if not all of it.

  "Well, thanks for the invitation. I won't be there, but tell J-- that I am proud of him and am glad that he is doing something that he likes."

  "Oh. Okay. I will.", she said.

  "By the way. Have you been by to visit Aunt Ruth?" I ask... knowing full well that none of them has been to see little 92-year old Aunt Ruth.

  "Ummm... no...", she starts stammering.

  "Well, do you know where she lives?" I ask - pushing this line of conversation.

  More stammering... so I let her off the hook a little...

  "Do you have her phone number? Perhaps a phone call would be nice, too.", I say.

  "Ummm...", more stammering, "Yeah... I think I have it... 830-555-1234", she says.

  "Yeah. That's it. You know, she would really like to hear from you guys.", I continue.

  "Oh. Yeah. I'll try to call her.", she says... now trying to find a way to end this embarrassing call.

  "Well, take care." I say.

  "Oh... yeah." , she says.

  *click*

  Ya know... my brother has been in that organization for all his life. It's amazing that he is JUST now getting the 'priveledge' of giving those Sunday talks.

  Of course, I realize that they promote those who are married and have kids first... but there are at least 2 examples in their own bible that show them encouraging fellas and gals to remain 'single' - and yet they don't support those by giving THEM more 'responsibilities'. Sorta sending out conflicting messages, if you ask me.

  Anyway... I am getting good at making her squirm. I don't take her guff anymore. *wide grin*

  WILD FIRE HAS BEEN INVADED BY AUSTIN SWAT TEAM!!!!!

  yes my life is just one big crazy circus,,,, i go to the apostofest and have a great time.....meeting great people,,, and then i come home to recoupe... well i am in my new house ,, trying to put things away ,,, when i hear a pounding on the back door.... i am alittle startled thinking it was my daughter,,,no think again,, its the austin swat team with all there gear and weapons drawn... (i abouttttttttttt shit my pants....) they had to tear down a portion of my security fence to get in....( i shudder to think if i wasnt home,,, would they have just broke down my door.... me thinks so.....) so i go what is this about...they tell me there is a guy across the street with a rifle shooting .... and making threats... they proceed to all gather at the only window i have downstairs ,,,,and keep telling me to get down.... incase the bullets start flying.....am i dreaming...is this really happening to me.... i just wanted to start my life over... and now it could be ending//////i keep running upstairs to change my clothes...and then they invade my bedroom as it has the perfect spot to watch him,,, as they move around my not moved in stuff to another corner////one guy was sooo sweet and done was a complete moron ordering me around ...in my house./....yikes.....so finally one guy say s get her out of here and i hear 6 shots.....this time i did shit my pants but thank god i was kneeling in the bathroom.... i must have been a bad girl at the apostofest... i am being punished for all my sins .. oh this will take awhile so macho swat team guy says take her out of here of course i gladly leave while i am being escorted by a nice copper.... now remember my 2 vehicles are right outside and the chance they will get shot up are good ...!!!

  !so i am alittle concerned my house has become commando central...with austins finest... and i am escorted around the street to a van/////i left ndak for this... why not ... they dont callme wild fire for nothing.... well minutes pass and i meet my neighbors ,, welcome wagon texas style....yikes,,,,,so finally the all clear is given i walk up to some smart asses and say what if my vehilcles are all shot up they say well you need to talke to so and so...i go great while my life passssses before my eyes... i go back to my house ... afraid of i may find inside ... but alas.,,, only the wooden shades to the window are damaged scuff marks on the floor and my bedroom looks well messy like it did before.....all this time i am taking pictures of everything ... all for proof and to think i didnt even hand in the move --in sheet yet... what a hoot.... they hauled him away safely.. but the yellow tape comes up so i cant go anywhere and i am invaded by detectives.. police... they take pics and ask ????...

  i dont know much i just moved in...soooooooooooooo what can i say...adventure or trouble follows me around for sure.....he was shooting mostly at the trash can and he did shoot close to my vehicle but missed it//// oh well... dontcha know ,,, life is one big circus.. parade...you name it, i am usually in the middle of it..... i miss you guys already... gumby,, shotgun, valis.... cg...theresa....wild turkey and dede...npy... winston.. xena....joanne... my northern partner in crime/////i am just glad its all over or is it????

  gas guzzling excursion in front, land cruiser (not really a guzzler but still the dreaded suv) and isuzu npr (not an suv but a guzzler.).

  there you have it folks.

  all my sins (and steve too) in my driveway.. now i know i'm not alone.

  "Diesel is more expensive than gas here. Last time I looked it was over $3 per gallon."

  Wow! Washington State must be really high on gasoline, too!!!

  Here in Texas, prior to the latest fuel crisis, diesel was about 20-cents more (I.E. 1.50/gal) than regular gas (I.E. 1.30/gal).

  After the crisis, gas shot up to about 25-cents MORE (I.E. 2.00/gal) than diesel (I.E. 1.75 per gal).

  Diesel engines usually get better fuel mileage than gasoline engines.

  i was at work today and i noticed a tradesman walking through the building wearing a t-shirt with a company name on it.

  i knew it was a dub's trade name and felt sick in the stomach.

  i didn't recognize the man wearing the shirt and thought maybe the business had been sold to someone else.. at lunch time i sat near a door and saw the boss of the company.............yes, it was the dub!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  It really upsets me that they still make me feel like this. I just want to hurt them somehow, the way they hurt my family."

  Ya know... you didn't mention if you were eating lunch with a workmate or not... if you were... or do... I know it is painful to think about, but you might try letting your workmate know - for their own safety - about this fella and what he did.

  Then next time something like this happens, you can let your friend know - and perhaps in a loud voice - loud enough for others present to hear - say something like, "This is the man who is protecting that child molester I told you about. Do NOT let them in your home, when they come door-knocking!" ... or some such.

  That way, you are not talking to him - directly - but he will get the point. Especially if you are making a public display of it.

  Like the cockroaches they are, they will run for the cover of darkness. (Of course, from their point of view... they are 'suffering persecution' - *rolls eyes*)

  When I was at my oldest sisters' funeral in '97 - the JW fella whut gave the 'talk', didn't even know she had existed. She dropped out and became a hermit-at-home. No one ever saw her. Not even me, when I visited there.

  Anyway... he could only say things like... "I was told, she did so-and-so...", etc.

  When he walked up and met me - I introduced myself, and he said... "Another _insert last name_?" *puzzled look*

  I just laughed and replied, "My mom neglected to tell you about me, too - didn't she?"

  I think he almost asked... or it was in his face... "Are there any others?"

  hahahahahahahaha

  Oh well. I have the best revenge. I live well.

  i hope that you folks can see the humor in this.... i just got a phone call from a fella named art, that i have sold software to about 5 or 6 years ago.

  he worked for a company in el paso, tx.. he was happy with the custom software that i wrote for him, so i never heard from him again.. one time about 5 years ago, i was on travel to a tradeshow in california - and heard this fella in a meeting... his voice sounded familiar - so i asked him if he was art of el paso.

  turns out he was, and we talked a bit.

  I hope that you folks can see the humor in this...

  I just got a phone call from a fella named Art, that I have sold software to about 5 or 6 years ago. He worked for a company in El Paso, TX.

  He was happy with the custom software that I wrote for him, so I never heard from him again.

  One time about 5 years ago, I was on travel to a tradeshow in California - and heard this fella in a meeting... his voice sounded familiar - so I asked him if he was Art of El Paso. Turns out he was, and we talked a bit. It's always good to meet someone you have only dealt with via e-mail or over the phone. Nice guy.

  Anyway... I have gotten divorced and moved since the last time I talked to this fella - and he lost his job - so he tries to call me at the old phone number - where my ex-wife now lives, thinking that I might help him with a new job lead or two.

  He gets the answering machine - and starts leaving a message on it... "Art from El Paso - looking for Jim..." etc. The ex picks up the phone and talks to him.

  She tells him my new phone number (nice of her to do)... and then he sez, "Didn't I meet you?" (Thinking she was with me at the trade show... which she wasn't. I just happened to be sitting on a row with some gal, I suppose... I don't remember.)

  Very icily she replies, "No! I haven't been to El Paso." Thinking I musta been there when Art saw me... with some floosie... which I wasn't.

  Well... things just sorta went from bad to worse after that, when Art said, "Oh. It must've been someone else."

  hahahahahahahahahaha

  Ya know... I'm gettin a reputation that I didn't earn. I feel cheated!
