  Baby(ies) Died From Heat At Convention?

  i recall reading from one source how babies were overcome by the heat at a jw convention, with at least one death.. if i'm not mistaken, this was in houston, texas, at the astrodome.. the story goes that doctors at the convention wanted an advisory about the heat read from the platform, but convention officials refused, stating that only wt related material was to be read.. it was stated that the doctors became so upset at this that they quit the wt on the spot!.

  has anyone else heard or read that story?.

  I have to admit from first-hand experience with my mother that the Witnesses do have a very large presence in the hospitals and have done a lot to promote and improve bloodless surgery.

  The doctors are cooperating because the Witnesses use blackmail... they are letting their kids die...

  Think about that from a doctor's perspective. He/she got into the business of saving lives and here is a group of people forcing your hand to let your patients die. Then they take credit for the virtues of safer surgery at the cost of dead children.

  I bet there a lot of furious doctors out there in this arena.

  They use bloodless surgery as a straw man when they are called to defend their manslaughter doctrine. They point to the new medical procedures and ignore that blood is still very much required in certain situations and it is life and death.

  Very thrilled actually. Once I left the WT I realized that I can actually make a difference.

  We have come a long way as a species and I am looking forward to furthering that progression by the time I die.

  the above is something i often heard jw's say in one way or another, but they could never fully eleabourate.. so i propose a debate: is the world "bad and "soo awfull"?

  It's "so bad" because of today's media. Money is made off of juicy stories so it really puts the entire world in a much darker light than what is really happening out there.

  something jws say that to a lot to people who have left or are leaving the org.. i find it very a very ironic statement since the wt and awake, or any wt literature for that matter, is never critical of itself and never directly addresses refutation of their doctrine and predictions.... i was raised a witness, as many of you were.

  i have been subjected to "one-side-of-the-coin" for almost 2 decades!

  the only true way to bring balance to my information is to look at the other side of the coin and give it great consideration.... -sab.

  Great news - Bethel in my country is closing down...

  here in czech republic wtbs opened new bethel home for some 60 workers about 18 years ago.

  it was presented as a proof jhvh is blessing and aproving wtbs and of course as a sign that the end is so close.... recently i had with my mil discusions about wtbs selling their property in many countries and cuting costs... she did not believe me..... last week we went to visit her and she told me there was an anouncment at her meeting, that bethel is closing down and the building will be sold.

  only translating department will remain in the country in other premises and everything else will be moved to slovakia.. recently there is bethel closing down in spain and italy and several assembly halls being sold here in europe.. i hope this will open eyes to many jw to see the gb in fact does not believe in end being so close .... albert.
