Men and secular employment, indeed!
Hey now. I don't have a job right now. But I am looking. And I am doing carpentry on the side to keep some money coming in.
i know this may be a touchy subject, but it's something that i think has been so obvious for the last few weeks at the meetings.
let me start by saying that i do understand the "headship" arrangement, and agree that it is biblical.. but it seems that the tendency is to take it way too far.
whenever speaking about training children, i've noticed that the boys are told to be trained by their fathers in various types of work, including trades.

at the last dc i will ever attend in 09' some elder was called up to do the morning prayer.
i dont recall him being introduced as a co or anything thats why i say elder.. he starts off slowly and 20 seconds in i realize this is his moment of glory, giving a prayer at the dc and he is going to take his sweet time.
i know the closing prayers are like at least 5 or 10 minutes, but this guy is going to kick off the morning with a long rambling diatribe..... so part way in he gets to the "slave" and he starts naming them off one by one.....ya know thanks for splane, pierce, barr, loesch....so on and so on....til he gets through them all.
The best prayer advice I ever heard came from our current CO. Don't make your prayer so long that people start praying for it to end.

The former DO/special pioneer/elder in my hall says like, 20 seonds prayers. "Jehovah, we aproach to thank you for the spirtual food, the blessing you provide and to ask forgiveness when we sin and fall short. In Jesus name, Amen."
They're like my favorite kind of sex, you go in, get your bidness done with a quickness, get out and go home.

Girls are told to be trained by their mothers to do the cooking and cleaning. It's rarely, if ever, mentioned that boys could be trained to cook, and girls could be taught how to do various other types of work (such as carpentry, mechanics, etc...)
You know...the bible does talk about Jesus making food for thousands of people but never mentioned him building a house.
this quote came from the czech republic .

Mad Sweeney is a very smart man.
sorry if this has already been discussed, i haven't been around here a lot and i have this question for any history buffs.. this summer's dc is a fictionalized account of first century jehovah's witnesses (gag), leaving jerusalem right after the first attack by rome and fleeing to pella.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/members/private/194498/1/drama-audio-only.
other than jesus "this generation" prophecy, the bible mentions nothing directly about this.
even john, who wrote his gospel and letters afterward, makes no hint of events in jerusalem during that era.
By using the term, 'mountains,' Jesus Christ evidently meant that his disciples should flee to a deep rift valley that overlaps with a mountain range.
It's an inverted mounted. Like a a belly button. Some people have an inverted belly button but they still have a belly button. Look, it's easy. If whatever the WTS says the bible says will happen doesn't happen, the bible clearly means the exact opposite.
A proper use would be a 1992 Padron with a glass of 21 year old Aberfeldy.

So....why exactly is he the worst president ever or something like that?
god creates man in his image, man imagines god to be the best version of him or her self.. does either have any possibility?.
if all our thoughts about god are limited, and i think most jw's would somberly nod their heads to that, then wouldn't it likewise be true to say that you can evaluate the contrapositive of the same and conclude that the god that made us, if the case is such is rather limited as well?.

The creator though as we all know, can be seen, and is seen every day. It's photosynthesis gives us lots of vitamin D, and lots of light. As to who created it? No one. It's always been there, and always will be.
Are you saying the sun is the creator? Plants do photosynthesis, not the sun. Are you saying the sun has ALWAYS existed and always will?
You can get DF'd or reproved for IMPROPER use of tobacco, which would imply that there is a proper use...
