Something is wrong with my dad...
by Strider Arekksu ini keep prooving to my dad how fucked up this religion is, how it lies, and how it is willing to call jesus and the prohets liars if it comes down to the wire to justify it's existance as a religion.
the only thing i did not show him is the faulty logic that is used in their litaruature.. sometimes he starts getting it and trying to listen, but if i don't say anything to him for a long time, and go off and do my own thing (studying by myself for a couple months), i come back and he'll be back to complete brainwash mode.
and the sad thing is he does not go to the meetings, and when he did (very rarely) i'd go and prove to him how the organization is wrong!

Wow. He has his beliefs and you are trying to convince him that YOU have it figured out and have divined the prophecies and are trying to save his life. Huh.

We told them today. Man that was tough. I took them with me for the evening and we ate dinner and talked and cried and talk and hugged it out. They are still sad dad won't be there but now they are thinking of all the fun we are going to have together. They were sad again when I left when i took them back home, but I really really believe it will all be ok. They did the crying bit about how I am going to die forever at armageddon, my older son is really concerned about me going to meetings, but that had already started to fade by the end of the night and he was looking forward to having two homes and having fun with me.....
Tuesday they are coming back over to spend the night and i get them again at the weekend. The hounders left me a voice mail today inviting me for a "chat" to "go over a few things" at the KH at 5:30 on Tuesday. Sorry, thats the day I get my kids. Fuck off, you'll get your letter.

Two Trees in the Garden of Eden
by God_Delusion inisn't it weird how so few know that there were actually two major trees in the garden of eden account.. there was the tree of knowledge (of good and bad) and there was also the tree of life.. genesis chapter 3 makes is quite clear that god banished adam and eve from the garden and placed an angel to guard the tree of life, so that they might not eat from it again.
is this implying that the two perfect humans had to eat from the tree in order to have eternal life?
if not, why protect it?.

Does immune system rule out adam?
by chukky 594 ini was thinking the other day about our complicated immune systems.
if gods plan was for adam to live on earth forever, and never die, then why was he given an immune system.
he obviously was (if he existed), because we have inherited it.

Free the Mind and Holy Spirit No Slave Class
by ABibleStudent inmt 23:1-14 (niv) then jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: the teachers of the law and the pharisees sit in moses seat.
so you must obey them and do everything they tell you.
but do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.

He said that to paint a better picture of the WT that it actually is.

Defective is a relative term. Can you tell me exactly what you mean? We evolve (or adapt, if you prefer that word) to environmental pressures all the time. Vitamin C, more that boosting our immune system, is key to our very survival. Without it we would develop scurvy and pretty much fall apart. Most animals, but no higher order or primates and self produce vitamin C.

What do you mean, "became defective"? We have immune systems that have been developed over time as a response to threats. I wonder if the JW's beleive that Adam was created with bacteria in his stomach to help him digest food.
