  2010 - NO District Convention For Me - WoooHoooo! Anybody Else?

  i have attended district conventions since i was a little kid every year.

  now that i have woken up from the wt nightmare, this will be my first year to miss a district convention!

  and it feels so liberating!

  What I did always find amusing is the people gathered around the baptismal pool with tears in their eyes as strangers got baptized. Sure, I always felt excited for them when I was a JW, but never to the point of tears. LOL

  Would Witnesses REALLY drink the "Kool-aid" if the faithful slave told them to? Yes or no?

  a "spiritual leader" tells his followers the must put on rebok running shoes and "drink the cool-aid" to join a ufo in the tail of a comet and "go to a better world" so, afew dozen young people do just that to get "beamed up" to the mothership.

  heavens gate cult 1990's.. my mother says "she is faithful to the organisation till her death" which makes me wonder if they ordered a mass suicide like the reverend jim jones did to escape a "great tribulation"....how many witnesses would really drink the cool-aid?...

  without a gun pointed at their head of course!.

  Forgot to mention this - when parents will let their baby lay there and die before giving them blood because the WT magazine says so, there's no limit to what they might do if the ORG says do it. Sickening!

  If the CO's keep giving this talk and telling the flock to "obey even if you don't understand", then perhaps a great many people would do exactly as directed.

  The most hilarious moment is when I think back to about 5 years ago, the bethel speakers said:

  "brothers we want to let you know that we do have district conventions planned for next year - we don't know if it will be on this side of the great tribulation or on the other side, but we are proceeding with our plans.."

  I remember friends who had lost family members in death getting all excited and telling others how they would see their loved ones sooner than they were thinking...

  Sad. Very sad. I'm so glad I have attended my last one.

  What are the chances...

  talked to some elders about my doubts, actually confimation that the wts bible logic was extremely flawed.

  wanted me to think it over, but i said i was admant about what i felt and would be crazy to deny it.

  it's been about a month sense i last went... due to more important things in my life, however, my dad is being an idiot and wants to still go to determine if they are true or not even though i already gave him enough proof that they are a joke, he keeps using the excuse of "if they teach the people good habits it can't be all bad.

  One person summed it up this way for me a few weeks ago:

  "if you don't want to be disfellowshipped, then don't go back to the kingdom hall and surely not to any meetings. If you want to be disfellowshipped, then go meet with the elders."

  For most people, this seems to hold true.

  the end of false religion is near!.

  when that came out it it sent chills down my spine... i knew the end was close... that was 4 years ago.... does 4 years constitute as "near"?
