Interesting story Flipper. I have never met anybody before that has personal experience with anything to do with Scientology.

JW-Media.org FAQ--edited for accuracy
by sd-7 indo you believe that you are the only ones who will be saved?.
many millions who have lived in centuries past and who were not jehovahs witnesses will come back in a resurrection and have an opportunity [to become jehovah's witnesses and thus qualify to be saved] for life.
many now living may yet take a stand for truth and righteousness [become jehovah's witnesses] before gods time of judgment [against all other religions], and they will gain salvation [because of being jehovah's witnesses].

I actually hit the site a few days ago and stumbled upon this question. Funny how they sneakily word it to make it seem innocent.

What's The Worst Thing You Know Of That A JW Did?

A friend of mine - not close - and I'm not sure if he was baptized or not - but he moved two states away and got strung out on drugs. He later went to the home where the book study was being held that evening and murdered the sister who owned the house and at least one of her kids. This was about 5 - 7 years ago. Very sad.

Did you carry any No Blood paraphernalia around?
by cult classic ini never really carried anything on me.
it was always fun getting the card signed and all (a welcome change of pace at the service meeting).
but i always thought it looked too weird to have that in my wallet.

I carried it and had it prominently displayed in my wallet for 20 years and two days to be exact. The day I cut it up, I took pictures of it laying in the garbage can all sliced up.

Stayed up all night, see it is a cult now.
by gutted ini really needed to find a place to write this as i don't believe i can talk with anyone else about my account, perhaps it is similar to a lot of yours.. last night for whatever reason i said i would go online and look up information on jws.
i have been raised as a jw all my life and baptized the last few years.
i looked at www.freeminds.org and www.sixscreensofthewatchtower.com and couldn't believe how easily the whole of my lifes teachings were refuted.. i can't stop my brain from running, bs just in regards to theology alone (1914, paradise earth, celebrations etc.

by rockmehardplace inhow long did you date?
i was reading another post by exms and he mentioned three years.

worst privelege ever?
by rockmehardplace incollecting money after every meeting.
i could never get someone to help, and i was always last to leave.
when i did finally have one person who would help, if i used them too often i got questions about why the two of us were always taking the contributions.

Doing the accounts was pretty bad. Esp after 10 years. And then the brothers appointed a sister to do the audits. She was a divorced sister with nothing to do, and she made a huge deal out of everything not done exactly right. I finally approached the brothers and told them to find a new auditor or find a new accounts servant. They promptly found a new auditor.

Gutted,
Check out Randy Watters "Thus Saith" book also. It's a great read. He debunks the WT teachings using our own publications, along with providing some humor along the way.

Are the GB members and other elite persons captives as well?
by darthfader ini know that the masses have definitely drunk the kool-aid but does that same conviction flow all the way to the top?
is there a clear line between those following and those in the know?
what current proof is there that the leadership is not captive, but the captor?
