DOGS - please help me understand.
by compound complex ingreetings, those who know dogs better than i:.
is it normal for a dog [a retrieving variety] to sit in the rain endlessly until his care provider comes out of the nest to play fetch with him?.
i don't care about getting wet myself; he's simply oblivious to weather [loves to jump off the dock and into our lake anytime].. thanks,.

July 15th WT Study Article - Generation PR Fallout to Keep JW's Alert !
by flipper inafter perusing through this article sent to us by our lurking jw friend- that's what i took away from this study article entitled " what jehovah's day will reveal " .
this article was printed to keep jw's alert to the alleged urgency of the times - just in case some get puzzled by the new extended overlapping generation theory and lose their sense of urgency.
i think the wt society is covering their backside here , doing possible damage control , and are very nervous about negative fallout in regards to how some jw's may respond to this extended " overlapping generation " theory being pushed.

thanks for this info Flipper. Honestly, I quit reading JW literature 2-3 years ago, even when I was a ministerial servant. And definitely since I came out in December, I haven't picked up a JW book. So posts like this really make it easier to keep up with the latest scare tactics they are using.

What Is Harder? Getting Somebody In a Cult or Out of a Cult?
by mentallyfree31 ini just happened to think about this today.
would it be harder to start today and get somebody into the watchtower organization and get them baptized or to tackle a jw and get them out of the cult?
it seems that getting somebody to baptism can take up to a year.

I baptized three in 25 years. I may try later on to get them out. One is almost inactive now I believe. The other is married to a JW now with two kids. And his wife's whole family is active, dad is an elder.

I just happened to think about this today. Would it be harder to start today and get somebody into the Watchtower Organization and get them baptized OR to tackle a JW and get them out of the cult? It seems that getting somebody to baptism can take up to a year. And getting somebody out can easily take a year or much longer. But you have to knock on a lot of doors to find a study and then convince them to continue studying, then give up all their rights to the BORG.... it's long and drawn out.
What do you think? I ask this in a light-hearted humorous type of way.

Where do I begin?
by Backspacer ini'm new here but have been reading/lurking for several months.
it's good to know that i'm not alone in my ex-jw status and that my story and experiences are not unique.
i have no bitterness or anger anymore.... that's long gone since i left some 12 years ago.

Converstaion Stoppers, do they really work?
by Mall Cop inremember, the topic in the reasoning book, conversation stoppers.
well, did they actually work against you or for you?.
are there conversation stoppers that you use now at your place of work or the bar, or with your significance other, that you use?.

I never bought into overcoming conversation stoppers. If a person said they were not interested, i thanked them for their time and told them to have a nice day. Conversation over!

Info For Newbies and Current Jehovah's Witnesses! Please Read!
by mentallyfree31 inexample: gravity is real.
because if 607 bce is wrong, then so is 1914 and 1918 and 1919. very simple.
so if we cannot trust secular research, then we can definitely discard the date of 607 bce.

Did you ever REALLY believe anything special happened at Cedar Point Ohio in 1922?
by Sapphy inbut the understanding is affirmed in the revelation climax book, albeit with less detail.
the events are as follows (& i'm keeping the quotes really short) :.
1st angel - "it all began during the bible students cedar point convention in september 1922. there gods people enthusiastically adopted a resolution entitled "a challenge.

I supposed I believed it and never gave much thought to it. This hasn't been fresh on my mind in a few years, so I don't remember my exact feelings when we studied this in the revelation book.

I don't see how there cannot be some huge sexual molestation cases in the future. We know what the rules were that allowed predators free reign for decades. The 2007 settlements were the first wave, I think.
Of course, if they settle them under the table, the publicity may be quite limited.
