jesus said increased wars, earthqaukes, pestilence {obvious prophecies} but here are mine.. 1. verily i say interest rates will rise and fall like "the sea of mankind.".

2. there shall be riots and turmoil after soccer matches...see that you are not terrified, for these things must take place...".

End of the Borg

There will continue to be growth but do not dispair. You will hear reports of changing interpretations of the Generation but the end will not yet come. No one knows the day or the hour, not even the angels in the heavens, only the Borg upon receipt of the lawsuit that will clean out their offshore accounts.

And the Good News about the failings of the Borg will be preached throughout the whole internet community so that all the nations will read it and then the end will come.

Bullying JW's

i've just watched a program on tv about bullying (in australia).

and my wife and i were just commenting on how much the jw's bully so many of their followers, as in shunning disfellowshiped or disassociated ones, even ones that have faded.

their bullying tactics also invove using famiky members not to talk to them.

This is a massive topic and for many different reasons...

1) for born-in's the WTS encourages (almost polices) children to be a target for bullying at school. No xmas, b'days, religious instruction and having. Doing door to door, no bad language, having to turn the other cheek, not joining in the fun stuff (discos) and not being able to date etc etc.

2) each KH is filled with personalities - some controlling types that bully. But all JW's are encouraged to put on the new personality which I believe is about displaying victim-like (sheep-like) qualities and therefore are open to bullying for any number of reasons.

The general rule though is if someone treats you badly and they're more spiritual (eg elder) then you are wrong and must pray. It's easy to get a bad reputation just for standing up for yourself and JW's are counselled to hold their tongue and forgive when treated badly. That just allows the bully to get away with it and do it again.

If you want to leave the organisation then bullying is often actively used and always involved as a threat (implied by the WTS).

3) in the preaching work some JW's use bullying tactics albeit generally more subtle. JW's believe they are 100% right and have God's backing so - they will preach to others - ignoring and rarely even listening to other people's opinions and if they disagree - well they're damned at Armageddon. Just turning up on someone's door - (normally it's 2 vs 1) and hammering through topics without the person being able to prepare can be quite intimidating.

I can honestly say I have never bullied in the cong - mostly due to my personality type - but seen it many times. I also was not bullied at school due to a combination of living a double life (avoided all references where possible to being a JW and what that meant) and having a set of cool friends who stood up for me.

I am angered though at how the WTS pushes it's young to "make a stand at school" and almost wants them to be bullied so this can be blamed on Satan and then they won't have any worldly friends. Also how some JW's act in the cong. If it were in the world they'd get a fist in the face and would learn, but in the cong they just keep getting away with it because the GB will back them up. GB policy on shunning, marking ones in the cong and how it encourages the spiritual class system (DO, CO, Bethel Elder, Elder, Bethel Mini, Pioneer, Mini, Active Brother, any Sister, Child, marked one (not sure where the wives of the DO, CO etc fit)) fosters an environment of bullying.

I have known of cases that led to some suffering depression and becoming suicidal.

Difference between "raised in the truth" and "converts" that are now X-JWs.

i am noticing a difference..... "raised in's" seem to be a little more relaxed and better suited for their world after the kh.

"converts" seem to be a little disoriented.

maybe b/c they saw the truth as away out of this crazy world only to be massive dissapointed.

Born in. I quickly and quietly realised I had been led to believe the following crazy opinions (just a small sample) once I started work and spending time with worldlings:

Men were more important than women.

If left alone with anyone of the opposite sex - sex was going to happen and one would need to fight it off. (quite disappointed about this one ).

I wasn't going to leave school because Armageddon would arrive way before then so why bother getting good results?

I guess most will react slightly differently to the teachings and social dynamics so hard to compare.

Back. and seeking ideas for screwing over the memorial

ok. me and friends are going to attend a memorial on 30 march.. what would be the best way to get our message across?.

should we just throw a hundred flyers into the hall in the middle of the memorial?.

should we drink the wine and eat all the bread and then stand up and say something?.

Disrupt what would otherwise be another hour spent in sheer boredom at the KH contemplating another wasted year without achievements? You spoil sport.

If you want to release a bit of tension head to a pub instead and get a bottle of red - pass it round a few times before you savour it's fine flavour. You could then plan an Ex-dub do - perhaps consider inviting only those in poor standing with the congregation, have it in an inappropriate establishment (any pub) and ensure that no-one is controlling the alcohol, if the lights are dimmed too much, the type of music playing or if the conversation is upbuilding enough. Enjoy your freedom - it's good to be free no? (please excuse the Oasis quote)

The Dictonary of JW's

jw's are very fond of taking words and making them mean somthing completly different.

i thought it might be interesting to compile these.

of course every other worldly dictonary will say that the word mean somthing different... but brothers and sisters!

Reaching out 1) to stretch one’s arm out 2) to publicly demonstrate one’s desire for promotion within the congregation by sucking up to several elders/visiting CO and being seen to do more field ministry. (this only applies to the male gender)

Food at the proper time 1) meal served on time 2) a pile of horsesh1t printed in a magazine that must be repeated in rote on a Sunday in front of other like-minded horsesh1t swallowers

Improper conduct 1) acting in an unacceptable way 2) the words used to describe feeling up your girlfriend/boyfriend when you are confessing to elders

Trusting in God 1) putting your trust in God 2) accepting horsesh1t you know is horsesh1t but are being asked to wait until one day it is superseded by fresher horesesh1t

Last days of the last days 1) WTF? 2) the phrase used to imply (but not guarantee) the end of the world is so imminent that the logical course of action would be to resign from any secular job and knock on as many doors as you can to warn people of their imminent destruction.

Spiritual reminders 1) a reminder from a source that is considered spiritual 2) reprinting the same old horsesh1t till one is bored to tears or a useful phrase to insert into a public prayer if preceded by the words “grateful for”

Brothers and Sisters 1) American sitcom 2) a way of addressing anyone who would gladly shun you the moment an elder announces you’re disfellowshipped or a group of individuals who regularly express an appreciation for horsesh1t

Brothers 1) a male sibling 2) a method of addressing a congregation whilst reinforcing that women are considered to be a lower class of horsesh1t swallowers

Elder 1) an older person 2) a senior horsesh1t swallower who has the power to deliver their own horsesh1t

Pioneer 1) the first to enter or settle a region 2) a practiced timewaster who seeks approval from other horesesh1t swallowers

Do not call 1) a request to not call 2) the occupier of a property that refuses to swallow horsesh1t

Joy 1) delight or happiness 2) the “lack of” being something to beat up anyone who hasn’t smiled enough during horsesh1t swallowing sessions or the secret emotion experienced when a senior horseh1t swallower has not turned up to deliver his horsesh1t on a Sunday.

Horsesh1t 1) what people who don’t know better or choose not to know better swallow in regular doses – best done as a group activity known as fellowship

i remember about twenty years ago some teenagers were caught fornicating in one of the additional schools.

the schools were downstairs, essentially separated from the rest of the kh.

they weren't just happened upon, though.

A wonderful Freudian slip was made by a very young brother during an answer when he stated that the "Annointed were looking forward to immorality in the heavens" instead of immortality. Not many picked up on it - but those that did couldn't keep a straight face for the rest of the meeting...

Yes. Could save someone's life. Doesn't cost anything. Side benefit of getting a regular health check too (they notify you if they find anything during screening). I'm healthy, clean living and know that my blood is good so why not.

Also I'm a donor. My Aunt died needing a transplant. If I die and my organs can be used to keep someone else alive - I would like to help. I think it's a really important issue - but understand if people don't want to.

richard dawkins closes down his free-thinking/free-thought site (www.richarddawkins.net) for 30 days to reconfigure it 'because too many morons were contributing drivel' (he doesn't put it quite like that!

) he is then surprised because those self-same contributors call him everything under the sun (i won't repeat the names flung at him on our ultra -refined boards).

he now wants the site more or less 'peer-reviewed' (by analogy with papers to learned/scientific journals having to be vetted by vips).

To a neutral party (whoever that could be) he can come across just as fanatical as the religious extremists he's trying to counter which isn't the most effective way of getting his point accross - indeed may be alienating many as a result. He must be so frustrated at ignorant and illogical beliefs but at times he does verge on forcing his own ideas on others. A bully? Passionate and up for a heated debate I would say. I think of a bully as one that takes your money, inflicts misery and threatens your health - see where I'm going with this :-)
