and rephrase the statement into a question: what do jehovah's witnesses owe us?.

Parents owe me a serious apology for all those years of total b/s

Financial compensation for all those missed birthday and xmas presents. Also for all the promotions one has been overlooked for due to an inadequate education.

Financial compensation to take a year out of employment and do all the things I missed out on when I was busy pioneering.

What does the government pay for wrongly imprisioning someone and taking years of their life?

Financial compensation for all the hours spent on fs, building kh's and listening to talks. Minimum wage would do plus petrol money - not like I was very skilled labour.

i was always scared somewhat by who i might meet at the door.. where i live we just had a mom murdered with her two young sons.

it is really sad, from what i just read in the paper the husband and wife took in this young man he was 22 years old and needed a place to stay.

he had been with them for months and had celebrated christmas and thanksgiving with all the family, etc.

I had the luxury of mostly working nice UK territory so no guns or real danger, only the self imposed fear of seeing someone from school or later on work. At the fs group I would be very quick to get sight of the maps and pick something that avoided certain streets -and aim for something as tucked away as possible. It may seem feeble in comparison to most of these other experiences but for me at times it was a huge issue.

the various links show pictures of the interiors - some of them must have been dressed up to sell but I bet they weren't too shabby beforehand! Hardly the modest accomodation that Jesus would have expected from his true followers. If this was another religion it would be slammed by speakers from the platform.

" although some of the accounts of abuse of children in s. africa in the story below are older, calab wrote me details of abusive treatment meted out to young people in his area that he chose not to put in his story for fear he could be identified.

calab in now in university in another part of africa and very happy after breaking the chains that engulfed his mind.. barbara.

Firstly, I have upmost respect for Andersoninfo and the quality of the evidence that's been gathered over the years is generally excellent.

I don't believe that we should accept something as true unless it is proven false and from my limited experience on the board over the last two years this isn't what I've seen done. More likely people are sceptical and weigh up the evidence before deciding if they believe it or not.

However we have had many posters who are unable to write their story well or effectively articulate their argument but this doesn't mean what they say is untrue.

My only addition is to corroborate a side point that Sizemik wrote: Additionally . . . prior to the mid eighties and in many cases well after 1990 . . . many white SA households were attended to by "domestic help" . . . unpaid live-in black workers, usually women. In many cases these too suffered abuse.

I can validate this. A colleague admitted (boasted) to carrying out such serialised abuse in his former homeland. This happened in the late 90's and involved several of his family members too. I can only imagine that the poor girl had little option due to economic hardship. This was not connected to JW's in any way.

the company i work for is having a xmas party today... as im fading since only 6 months ago, i dont want to have elders behind me, i wonder if i should go ... there are 3 witnesses in the same company ....

I had to avoid a few xmas parties when I worked with JW's and was fading but it's worth the wait...

This year I not only went to the company party, I hired a room in the hotel and had a pre-xmas soiree, was the santa handing out presents for secret santa and took part in breaking a guinness world record wearing a santa hat. Mulled wine anyone?

"donations basis proves jehovah is behind the work!".

think not what the truth can do for you, but what you can do for the truth (wasn't that America?)

JW's make the best employees (when they're not clock-watching or campaigning for their beliefs)

money doesn't bring you happiness (so donate it all to your local KH fund)

need to take on the solid food (I haven't memorised enough obscure JW theology to be able to quote it with confidence at the right moments to sound spiritual but without risk of sounding like an apostate)

it's so sad to see the weak ones give up when we're so close to the end (yeah the weak ones who always give me lifts and pay for the petrol on fs - I'll have to suck up to another JW who's got a car)

you should look for spiritual qualities in a mate (ignore how compatible, intelligent, attractive, funny, career minded they are - as long as they display good cult following abilities - that'll be fine)

the world is passing away (all the old ones in this congregation who've sat listening to "I'll never grow old" are all passing away)

serve where the need is greater (I'm bored of this local apathetic territory - I want out but need a holy catchphrase to get a decent send off)

by refusing blood we actually get better treatment (would be funny if it wasn't so tragic - literally)

a window-cleaning robot that won a gold medal at the 2010 iena nuremberg international trade fair was launched in taiwan today.. the robot, named winbot, was invented by local inventor chao chih-mo and uses magnets that allow the device to be attached to both sides of windows up to 10 millimeters thick to clean both surfaces at the same time.

the invention is able to detect the cleaning area on its own using automatic navigation technology and infrared sensors, said the company.. .

the robot, which is priced at under nt$10,000 (us$330), can operate at least five times more quickly that human window cleaners.. that could put hundreds of thousands of jw's out of a job :d. .

I think you're missing the point. Most people would still prefer to keep their JW window cleaner as they offer greater honesty, reliability and efficiency than any robot and will continue working after armagedon.

Started a personal research project on blood/medical issues

i wanted my next project in the process of undoing watchtower doctrine to be their history of statements/rulings on medical treatments.

i found out just how little i really knew once i checked out ajwrb.org's scriptural discussion of the blood issue.

the logic was excellent.

Great article sd-7, I'd never considered white blood cells and breastfeeding - another logical oversight in their dangerous teaching
