GAH! US Gov't = going to far!!
by Xander inthis is just irritating:.
pay special attention to:by rewriting wiretap laws, csea would allow limited surveillance without a court order when there is an "ongoing attack" on an internet-connected computer or "an immediate threat to a national security interest.".
doesn't that sound lovely?

Lets use our freedom of speech!!!!!!!!
by haujobbz ini think its about time we do something about jws organisation,we must take a stand and not hold back and the more of us that do it the better, otherwise there just going to get away with it in time.we must show these so called christians that we are powerful even if we r a minority.im up to making a stand by protest at assemblys.congregations etc.

EX-JW doesn't mean anything to anyone who doesn't post on this board tho...EX-Jehovah Witness would have to be used. Most people won't know what the JW means.
Plus Cult could get shot down as slander, and cult is a subjective term. Any JW doesn't think they are in a cult, heck some people who study religions wouldn't classify them as such, they would call them a Sect. And again, cult is a nasty word, some non-jw's might even dismiss us as just a bitter group of people.
And just for clarification, what are we even organizing for? Before we go off on designing shirts shouldn't we have a goal, reason, gathering place, know what kind of coverage we want etc? Before you design your message you need to know your audience. Are we trying to reach JW's, non-JW's, both, are we bashing the borg, bringing attention to the pedophile issue, or all cover ups? Do we want the media involved, do we want to protest a convention, or just have a gathering? Frankly I don't think protesting a convention is a good idea, because technically they have a right to gather, and they can ask anyone to leave that they want to because they have rented the facility for their purposes and are within their rights to ask people to leave the property. But how about some clarification FIRST?

JWs are RIGHT and worldlings are LIARS
by haujobbz inthis honestly seem to be message im getting from most jws.think about it whats more important the source or the information ie:say for instance i was an ex jw and told a witness who new me there house was on fire would they believe me, or label me as being unspiritual and liar.they seem to think that the watchtower society is jehovah, if he tells them to jump its matter of how high?

Why do you think I keep my apostate leanings hidden? If my parents knew that my innocent questions and curiosity wasn't so innocent they would possibly toss me out of their house and never speak to me again. My hope is by being passive and just talking to them about things they will start thinking for themselves and start looking at things instead of not touching anything that is "wordly" or "apostate"

What do you like to watch?
by SpiceItUp inok...not that there is anything wrong with serious threads (i for one enjoy them) but i was looking through the ones today and decided i needed a bit of fluff in my day (been way too serious lately).
so my question is..even though its rerun season...what tv shows do you like to watch?.
myself - i was an avid "x-files" fan but alas they have ended the series .

The only show I MUST watch, and will actually drop everything for is the Simpsons...otherwise not to much of a TV watcher, until football season comes, but that's not really a "show" is it?

Personally I agree--Cult is too strong. I say this only because JW's would see this as a direct attack and they wouldn't even listen and dismiss us as trouble makers. If anything that is always my biggest concern, that we play into all the stereotypes that they have been fed. JW's need to know we are the normal ones.
How about the simple definition of what an Apostate really is? This would explain to non-JW's what apostate means, jargon they are not familar with, and show JW's that apostate is a safe word that has only been turned ugly by the WT society.
Excuse the rough sketch I made on microsoft paint, lol...but you get the general idea, but I do think T-shirts are a good idea, plus spiffy posters and flyers if you are going to organize something in your area.

rather it is the rage now.... please check out http://www.leftbehind.com/ and take a look.
the reason i bring this up is because 3 different people i know (not xjws) are all into this "stuff" now.

Actually not to long ago Time Magazine devoted a whole cover story to these books, which are selling millions of copies each time, and they were quick to point out that it's not just fundamentalist christians reading these books, but that lots of people are concerned, thinking about, questioning the Apocalypse, especially after September 11th.

Did anyone catch the Diary episode with Serena? I watched the whole thing and not one mention of Witnesses, church, god, or anything. I was begining to wonder if she even is a witness...obviously she is not in the truest form, but I seriously doubt that when she retires from tennis that it will be to go pound on peoples doors full time.

Crawdad--what does this have to do with anything? These are not comforting, funny, informational, or anything...what are you trying to do? Maybe if I understood your purpose with posts like this I might understand them better.

Will you share in the Synthetic Resurrection?
by Nathan Natas inthe dodo, the wooly mammoth, the giant moa, the thylacine.

the tasmanian tiger, or thylacine, is a species of marsupial carnivore.

Cool info Nathan, I had often thought about that and wondered why no one looked into it...I plan on looking into it some more.
SS--If such technology exisited I am pretty sure the dub's would say it's "wordly" Meanwhile while everyone was re-creating themselves the dubs would still be "waiting on Jehovah"

By the by, where the hell is O'Donovans? Is that the Irish place next to Blues Alley, right across the street from First Ave, and Target Center?
