i'm not a brad pitt fan but the movie was very good.
they took some liberties with homer's work but i was impressed none the less!

I always thought Hector was such a tragic and touching figure, I am curious as to how he is portrayed in the movie considering this is the Brad Pitt moviethon.

Being born in I never got the love bombing.
I got a few love greneades when you would participate in a dub milestone, like your first talk, taking your first door, your first time pioneering, but that's about it. If you missed a meeting or two it was no love bomb...just a look of, "You make Jehovah cry"...lol

certainly not that i would ever imply that anyone would have sinned against the holy spirit, but i was just wondering how may people either think they may have done this, or in the past thought they may have, or if they felt they were ever a victim of that wt scare tactic.

I think I felt the gulit tactics, but never in terms of pissing off some unseen spirit creature that could smite me.
my mother told me the other day that if push came to shove, she probably wouldn't go to my daughter's wedding if she knew she would be removed as a regular pioneer.
she said that pioneering was something she chose to do over the last 40 plus years.
if my daughter chose to marry an "unbeliever", then that was her decision.......obviously, some things are more important.
How sad she doesn't want to take part in such a special day...all because of her "duty" to her god.

I fear growing old and wasting away. A prolonged agony. But death itself doesn't bother me. I guess when my time is up, it is up.
sometimes when i log on to jwd i go directly to "jokes and humor" because i know that there will be something there that will crack me up.
i love to laugh and i think humor is great therapy especially when alot of us have been through so much.
its great that we can make fun of ourselves and can find the humour in many of our experiences.

As for making me laugh, I have to say most of them have moved on.
Naeblis was the ultimate make me wet my long underwear go-to greek.
Cygnus made me giggle like a giddy little ether monkey.
SixofNine is far too smart for me, I can't keep up with him.
Nosferatu usually has a witty little zinger to make me giggle.
Slippy--I'm laughing at you, not with you. Just kiddin--you make me laugh all the time you smarmy little devil you.
Lauralisa -- although she doesn't post here, she still make me kidneys hurt from laughing to hard. She does the BEST Kyle's mom impersonation EVER!
Monkey--How could I not laugh at someone who's name is my own personal mascot?! I miss getting in to mock cat fights with him on the board. Argueing over who filled out a tube top better. Sadly, he always one. As soon as I find the coconuts from the grassy knoll I go public!
