My Dad's passing

quite a while ago i wrote about my dad who has been living with prostate cancer for 13 years with secondry bone cancer for the last 2 years.

we all thought he was going to leave us back in april when he had a bad chest infection.

i was talking about wanting to be able to say some words at his funeral.

im luke warm and dont know what side im on, i dont mix well and i dont want to be worldly if u know what i mean,im a good person with morals and nowadays thers not many of us left., not were i live anyways,its so hard leaving it behind cos now i duno what to do with myself, and i dont want to go out and live it up or go on face book or go meet loads a worldly people and be like everyone else, and i dont wana celebrate pagan hols even thoe i might do xmas i still feel weird doing that.i dont feel right with myself one bit..

I hope I didn't offend you by saying it's best not to use the term 'Wordly people'. The reason I mentioned it was because sometimes when we leave the WT some of their dogma sticks to us. I used that term for quite a while when I stopped going, to the point where my daughter had to slap me up the back of the head and remind me that I too was now a 'wordly'. lol

I struggle to put down on paper what I really mean sometimes because for 27 years I didn't have a voice. Now I do.....and good gracious do I put my foot in it sometimes.

since i da-d myself 2 months ago, i only met one ex-bro while i was walking in the town.

he was an old brother, around 75, poor performance in the street service, poor personal study, "weak spirituality", but a great person.

i stumbled upon him 10 days ago.

this is totally out of my usual realm of posting but i really would like some input, please (may you all have peace!).

i have supervised many employees over the years and have dealt with all kinds of issues, except this one... although i know it's not uncommon.

i have a staff member who has the worst halitosis.

It amazes me how many posters disappear off a thread when the bullying starts. Doesn't that tell you something BP ..... other posters do not agree with the bullying and so they take a step back. I will and have defended Shelby and others who have felt the wrath of posters such as yourself. I truly do not see the need for such cruel and vicious attacks.

I don't think it helps newbies that come on here looking for help, solace, comfort, peace or answers to witness behaviour such as we have seen on this thread.

To all my dear sisters/brothers in Christ may you all have the peace and strength that only our Lord can give.

(Sheesh I've been away from the forum due to a family crisis and nothing has changed. Bullies need to get a heart... one that beats and doesn't sit in their chest like a stone.)

Hi Serein - you're just suffering from cult withdrawal symptoms, it will pass.

It's way more loving to call people outside the WT ....well just people. The WT call people 'wordly' as a way to insult them, to show they do not belong to them.

Start living your life, make the effort to new make friends. There are a lot of good people outside the WT.

Here's to your new life....enjoy.

i am curious (and serious)... regarding your thoughts as to the "source" for the "sacred secrets" revealed by paul... and whether you believe he was the last to so receive (if you indeed believe so and excluding john's revelation) and why you believe so, particularly given the "gifts" of the spirit and the prophecy regarding its outpouring.

i am also curious as to what you believe such gifts are for... and how they are used.. i am curious... because i am concerned.

The WT teaches that the gifts of the spirit ended when the last Apostle died.

Just another one of their false teachings.

Fear is very loud

Anything that is loud within us that is not of the fruitage of the spirit will prevent us from hearing, e.g fear (which you say you have), hate, anger, despair etc.

When all is quiet within us, it is then we will hear. Difficult to do (I should know) but very, very possible.

Do you feel sorry for the family members who shun you?

as each instance of shunning happens to me, it seems even more ridiculous than the last.. this weekend i took our kids to the park - wife opted out, understandably - and we let our daughter call my parents to inform them we'd be there.

this was my first time in the presence of my parents since our df announcement two weeks ago.. my mom and dad were 10-20 feet away much of the time and yet they never said a greeting or.. well anything.

at one point my daughter, who is aware of the shunning, mistakenly thought my mom called my name and shouted excitedly, "mawmaw, were you talking to daddy??
