  I don't owe ANYONE an explaination...

  ...about why i do not want to come back (get reinstated), but i find myself defending my decision!.

  i say this because an old friend of mine sent me a text late last night, asking me if i'm 'back so we can talk'?!

  let me give you a lil background story, this girl is developmentally challenged, 36yrs old, can't hold down a job, drive, nor live alone.

  you do not owe anyone an explaination...but on the other side....it depends greatly on who you are talking to...i have some mental disability,,,and sometimes people with mental disability do not always think and feel like "normal" people...their insight into things could be so different from what perception is on the outside....what is recieved as black and white in your mind,,,,could be a "rainbow" of color in theirs...

  if you really know the person speaking with you,,asking questions..etc...ALWAYS...assume the best of them...her heart may be broken in ways that you could never concieve....17 year olds are capable of living alone...she is worse than you realize...

  you handled it nicely,,,but just some of my added feelings for thought....i am sensitive in this area...why??? because people knew they were 'RIGHT" in their judgement....i was marked,,,shunned,,,reproved,,,,slandered...etc etc....i did not have the mental ability to correct the situation,,,and did not have the ability to endure the situation....the result....a hair line away from suicide....i was rescued by a worldily family member.....

  thank god,,,there are people who are NOT jehovahs witnesses,,,,and have some real common sense....thanks for letting me ramble...peaches

  Do You Think Prostitution Should Be Illegal?

  recently, in my area, a number of people have gotten caught looking to pay for sex from a call girl.

  a catholic priest was one of the "johns" that got arrested.. i know there are some that argue that it is debasing.

  still, for a million years, it's been going on and there are willing parties who want to engage in this activity.. if two consenting adults want to have sex with one another and are willing to pay and accept the services, is it a horrible thing, in your opinion?.

  Christian Friend Prayed for Meal WITHOUT Invitation to do so!

  she was visiting for breakfast and we hadn't seen each other for over 2 years.

  i have since stopped being a christian and have been exploring paganism.. i don't advertise this for fear of offending people and getting judged for it.. so, we sit down to breakfast that i cooked at my house, and she asks me to say the prayer!

  i said that i'm not a christian.

  theme was something about "loyalty to jehovah's visible organization".. i have neither the time nor inclination to summarize the whole thing, but a few points stood out:.

  even if it causes you personal hardship.

  example: joshua & caleb returned from spy trip to promised land with good report, but were "outvoted" by the other 10 spies.

  Public Apologies and the WTBS

  what type of public apology do people need to hear to be able to believe it and accept it?.

  the authors of the five languages of apology, gary chapman and jennifer thomas, might have an answer.. when we apologize we hope that the act of sincere apology will eliminate bad consequences and automatically earn forgiveness of other people.

  but the authors discovered that ...sincere apologies may not always be received as sincere and forgiveness and reconciliation are not always forthcoming.

  How many different books have been published by the watchtower society?

  i know there has been a lot, but does anyone actually have any idea?

  to make it easier, lets omit books published before say 1960. that gives 50 years worth of books.

  i wonder how many books it takes to teach the word of god door to door, and how many just find new ways to say the same things?

  i remember the day that i first found out about this teaching.

  it was during a co's visit, he got up on the platform, and made it absolutely clear that the only way to get into paradise was to be a baptised jw (he had a letter from the borg saying this).

  i was confused by this, and the next day i was set to work with him in the ministry.

  ok so many of you did not mind sitting and wasting time in a car while out in service because it beat banging on doors and trying to convince someone to join a religion that at least i could not fully explain even to myself much less someone else.

  i agree sitting in a car beat banging on doors hands down.

  but was it not crazy going door to door.
