Bethel Rules

If that's true, curious butterfly, then it changed from when I was there. We all got physicals the first day that we were there.
I am sure they get a physical upon entering, I do not know for sure. When we were in Paterson recently visiting them I was shocked her husband has not seen a doctor in years since he has not been sick. NO regular routine exams until you are older. Her husband is 40.

Stepmom for sure!! Always sends me into the ugly cry..
Same here knowing she is going to die. I always have tissues since my friends tease that I cry at all movies.
"Meet Joe Black", I cry like a baby. Sir Anthony Hopkins reminds me of my dad.

Did you have any sort of health insurance coverage while you lived there?
I have a very good friend and her husband who is now at Paterson. He has been a bethelite for 20yrs, she 10 yrs. I was so pissed when I found out that male bethelites do not get physicals until they are 50 (I am 99% sure she said 50). Unless you are really sick, a male bethelite does not see a doctor. I shudder at the possible *silent* diseases or cancers that can happen to a person and will die from if not attended to at the beginning.

Shawshank Redemption had a few scenes I though were sad too. When Brooks got out and couldn't handle life on the outside, and then hung himself, I hated that.
Same here, he finally got out and could not handle it after all those years behind bars.

Circuit Accounts Servants Confesses how the SCAM WORKS!!
by JT inyes, i too have wondered how an assembly that is held in a fully paid for assembly hall, with no food service, could possibly have $10,000 in expenses.
i suppose the bethel speakers have transportation expenses - maybe $1000 or so.
as for rent on the assembly hall, well you have already paid for it once, why pay again?

I know that is crazy they charge how many publishers are in that circuit. When I found that out I was like WTH? Before I discovered that little nugget as to why the expenses were so much for an assembly hall that was own and paid for by the WTS...
When the announcement was made about being in the red on Saturday afternoon I would lean to my husband and whisper "BS we used that much in lighting and a/c etc." He would chuckle because I usually catch far fetched accouncements and crack a joke knowng that was complete bull.

Part of the family dumped for road trip of a lifetime
by betterdaze inpraise jah!
from the same true christianstm who brought you throwaway families, we now have disposable pets.
heart-warming story as lewis finds new home.

That is so sick. Animals are not disposable, why bother getting one? When they become inconvenient you pass them on.

Do you know any other folks from Franklin? I'm gonna go now to read some your other stuff to see if I can find any clues.
I believe Irwin Adams is still in Franklin serving as an elder. I heard many stories of his father Precott Adams being a harda** and it was his way or the highway. The congregations from Boston to Providence have changed so much. My husband gave a talk in the Hyde Park congregation last year and there were alot of old timers there.

Elders on here... what if you were asked to sit on a JC for apostacy?
by Aussie Oz ini woke up this morning wondering what any elders who frequent this site would do if they were asked to part of a judicial commitee to disfellowship an apostate.. how would you handle it?.
has it happened to you?.
no deep reason why, just wondering!.

I need to look that up and see. Don't mean to hijack, but if anyone has a personal experience with transplants prior to 1980 as a JW, I'd like to hear it.
Ask Coffee_Black she has had experienced this with her father.
