have you ever noticed how some elder's families are the worst example in the congregation?
some wives lord it over the rest and think they are special , while some kids get away with all sorts of things because of big daddy.
have you ever had a problem because an elder's family got away with something and you got blamed for it?
I can speak from experience and as an elder's kid you are in a fish bowl so everyone can scrutinize what you do, wear, say, hang out with etc. That is a terrible way to live at such a young age, that is where hangs up start to form.
My Dad kept us in line and I am glad he was strict that kept us out of serious trouble. Not to say we would meet brothers from other KHs and hang out. We were never caught but if we were my Dad would have had our hides and not hid anything.
apart from a member of the gb of course.... i've personly seen a brother gesturing so much he sent the mic stand flying!.
another who opened his mouth to speak and burped loudly into the mic instead!.

A brother giving the announcements and must have forgot something because under his breath he said "oh sh*t". I looked at my husband and asked "did he just say what I thought he said?" He confirmed, I busted out laughing, asked for the recording to hear it again.

my challenge to you is..... next time you see a parent beating a human child in public at the kingdom hall, when there are two witnesses - you and one other - call 911 or the police, and report the parent by name, for child abuse..
It has been years since I have seen a kid spanked/beat at the KH. My husband and I were saying that you used to hear kids screaming not to be punsihed now nothing. I am for discipline and whether a time out, grounding or a spanking (NO beating) depneds on the kid. I personally do not think I could spank a child, I am a softy.

Buster and Coffee Black I know or heard of most of the people you mentioned. I knew or hung around with their kids/grandkids.
Buster - Vinny Profenna is married to a sister 1/2 his age and they have a child. He was a late bloomer being a first time dad at 47-48.
she has had strange coloured discharge from one breast for a while now.
the doctor didn't really seem to take it seriously.
yesterday she shouts me screaming and she shows me blood coming from her nipple, like you would expect milk to.
KW my thoughts and prayers are with you both. Wait for the doctors to confirm. One thing is breast cancer is VERY curable so there is hope. Hang in there.
something someone said on one of the popularity topics got me to wondering who on the board is quiet and who are the outgoing ones in real life.
i'm a quiet person in real life, takes me a while to warm up to folks that i just meet, but if i really like a person my rarely used gift of gab comes out.. how about ya'll?.
Depends on how I feel but in general I am outgoing if I am not in large groups. YIKES guess I excel in judging.

as a parent i fully understand the concept of wanting my children to choose their friends wisely, to be careful about literature they read & so on & would i cast them out for being wayward?
yes, i have, & they learnt their lesson & were welcomed back with immediacy the minute they made the necessary changes.
I have no children but could never imagine turning my back on them, NEVER! I shake my head and wonder how these supposed "loving christians" cannot feel like a hypocrite avoiding their own family and want to be with stangers.
