It is up to your conscience. We use the "christian obligation" to still talk to family members who are df'd. We do not advertise our association with them.....don't ask don't tell. I do know a brother who holds a position could be removed if they have and adult df'd child living there. In the case of my family my sibling was going to meetings so the elder body did not give my Dad any grief.

What's the policy...
by MrFreeze inwhat is the policy for disfellowshipped people in your family for when they get sick?
for instance.
let's say your disfellowshipped son/daughter gets seriously sick and needs someone to help take care of this.

Were You a Skilled Worker?
by letsslatejws infor those of you who were a skilled worker, were you constantly inundated by jw's wanting you to help you fix their problem?
at rock bottom prices or for free?
my brother in law used to fix tv's and he was constantly being contacted by jw's who he had not spoken to in years, yet when they wanted something they were there quick as a flash.

I see it all the time and it is frustrating. Thank God I am not a skilled worker nor do I take advantage of ones who are. JWs think you owe it to them to not charge. JWs are known for being cheap.

To search via a member's name:
Click on their name and you will see their profile. Then you have a choice to click on "Topics Started" or "Topics Posted On", which is located at the blue bar in the upper portion of the webpage. This makes a HUGE difference, thanks to Zoiks kindly pointing it out to me.

For Those Who Married "in the truth"
by Magwitch inhow did you meet your mate (convention, local hall)?
did you date long?
did you really have anything in common other than the same religion?

I met my husband through a friend, I was sort of dating another brother and hubby caught my eye. We were really good friends for a while and then we officially started dating for 2 years. Back then it seemed like an eternity but he was worth the wait. Our chaperones were our mutual friends, we would go dancing at clubs and hang out. My Dad was strict but he trusted him and I was allowed to do more as long as we had someone around.
