Crap my District Overseer says
by easyreader1970 inhere are some things that came from the mouth of the district overseer over the course of the two days.
1. the recession isn't going to end.
things are screwed because the demons are controlling the world.

Sports are controlled by the demons and there will be no sports in the "new system". If you spend your time now watching and rooting for a team that will ultimately be destroyed by God, you're wasting your time.
Oh man this will not sit well with the husband. Looking forward to seeing what was said at our 2-day and hubby's reaction. lol

Anyone else here with ADD/ADHD?
by proplog2 ini have had this problem all my life.
i have a child that also has it.
since people with adhd have a problem fitting into organizations do you think it may be one of the reasons why you just couldn't take the jw's any more.

I think I have ADD, never diagnosed. Someone at work who has an adult niece said I may have it. I have always had a problem comprehending the bible or anything with long run-on sentenced paragraphs. Sometimes I felt so dumb and inadequate. Give me a book/mag with shorter paragraphs I can comprehend with no problems. My co-worker stated my brain sees all the words (in large paragraphs) and is trying to obtain as much info causing my brain to not comprehend.
This also happens when I am at a store that is not orderly and makes it difficult to look for something since I keep getting distracted. The common denominator would be I get distracted easily and I need lists to accomplish anything at hom e to stay on track as well as comprehension when an article/book I read has very long paragraphs.
Does she make sense?

JW sex offender can't worship with minors
by behemot inn.h. supreme court title sex offender can't worship with minors subhead religious freedom appeal rejected summary main photo/photogallery by maddie hanna / monitor staffseptember 18, 2010the state supreme court has denied the appeal of a sex offender who wanted to worship with a manchester congregation of jehovah's witnesses after he was released from prison in 2008.. in an opinion issued yesterday, the justices rejected 36-year-old jonathan perfetto's argument that the conditions of his suspended prison sentences - which require he have no contact with minors under age 17 - had violated his right to religious freedom.. "the defendant's freedom of belief has not been restricted," the justices wrote.
"he may still practice his religion in ways that do not violate the condition of his sentences," including the use of books and video and audio recordings.. perfetto could also participate in bible study sessions or meet with congregation elders when children weren't present, the justices said.. and the justices agreed with the state that restrictions prohibiting perfetto's contact with minors were justified if they were reasonable to his rehabilitation and to protecting public safety - rather than the least restrictive conditions possible, as perfetto had argued.. in perfetto's case, the restrictions were reasonable, the justices said.
perfetto pleaded guilty in 2002 to 61 counts of possessing child pornography, and "prohibiting him from having contact with children provides protection to the class of individuals exploited by him and furthers his rehabilitation by limiting the circumstances which could lead to his reoffending," the justices wrote.. the appeal marked the first time the court had considered whether restrictions barring a sex offender from attending religious meetings where children are present violated that person's constitutional rights to freedom of religion.

Thank God, this case had me pissed at the thought if they let him go to the KH. He needs to be locked up for a very long tim since he has admitted in the past he will reoffend and eve his own mother thinks the key should be tossed.

Abuse of Authority and Tax Exemptions in the WT Organization
by OnTheWayOut ini will relay this as hearsay as i was not personally involved, but perhaps some of you can personally attest to such abuses for the apologists out there.. even this "hearsay" was verified by another person who was involved to some extent.. this spanish former elder told a two-fold story about abuse of authority and abuse of the tax exemption that wts has.. tax exemption- his story was about how, in the building of an assembly hall in illinois, the people in charge of various portions of the project bought materials and automobiles with the tax exemption number given to them.
among their materials and automobiles were materials and automobiles for their home and personal use.
he then went on to describe the situation a double kingdom hall with six spanish congregations found itself in.

Ditto to what Blondie said. Also, they may be wanting "something" a variance or permit for building or selling a property.
