Ya, but sweetie, we should be better than that. I hate the religion but the people who are in it are still human beings and some family is now grieving the loss of someone they loved. Remember how pissed off we all were when Danny Haszard pepper-sprayed those two elderly Witnesses who came to his door? It doesn't mean that we still don't hate the religion, but they didn't deserve what he did. I agree that many Witnesses are not there for their fellow man when tragedy strikes, but that doesn't mean we have to sink to their level.
Well said, thank you.

If you read that I personally would not do that and that I think it is dead wrong for anyone who is a JW or not.

By the way, how much pity and compassion would the JWs show toward the surviving family of an 'apostate' who died?
Personally I would have great compassion. I can see where some think JWs have an FU attitude if you are df'd or an apostate and that is dead wrong. No matter what a human, woman, mother, wife, daughter, grandmother and/or friend died in a tragic accident and that alone is heartbreaking. To cast stones is not what any human JW or not should be doing. I hope that God forbid something happen to a loved one of mine people will remove the "religion" and look at the human being.

Don't know how to title this but: Tragedy!!!
by AK - Jeff inhttp://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2010/09/27/book_details_motives_for_suicide_at_harvard/?page=1.
what he left behind: a 1,905-page suicide noteauthor described nihilistic outlookby david abel, globe staff | september 27, 2010. in the end, no one really knows what led mitchell heisman, an erudite, wry, handsome 35-year-old, to walk into harvard yard on the holiest day in his faith and fire one shot from a silver revolver into his right temple, on the top step of memorial church, where hundreds gathered to observe the jewish day of atonement.. but if the 1,905-page suicide note he left is to be believed a work he spent five years honing and that his family and others received in a posthumous e-mail after his suicide last saturday morning on yom kippur heisman took his life as part of a philosophical exploration he called an experiment in nihilism.. at the end of his note, a dense, scholarly work with 1,433 footnotes, a 20-page bibliography, and more than 1,700 references to god and 200 references to the german philosopher friedrich nietzsche, heisman sums up his experiment:.
every word, every thought, and every emotion come back to one core problem: life is meaningless, he wrote.

I read it yesterday, it is sad. He was experimenting on nihilism, he was not a well man.
Definition of NIHILISM
1 a: a viewpoint that traditional values and beliefs are unfounded and that existence is senseless and useless

What silly things have you been counselled on or simply been told off for?
by 3Mozzies inso what silly things have you been counselled on or simply been told off for?.
back in my early 20's, i had a pair of comfy old jeans that started to tear in about 3 places on the leg.
it was the fashion at the time so not only did they feel great to wear, they also looked 'in', not that i cared for that, but it was a bonus .

These are good and made me chuckle.
I do not have any really good stories but here is one.
There was one elder in our KH who would complain during and recite all the offenses at their elder's meetings what the elder's wives were doing. I only found out because 2 elders told their wives and they told me. hee hee I asked my husband and his mouth dropped. Well this self-rightous elder had a list of offenses and some of them were: - We chew gum at the KH - Some of our skirts were too short. I guess he pointed that claim at me. My skirts were are my knees, just when I sat down they hiked a little. I told hubby he can "sit and spin" last I knew I was an adult. - We are not out in FS on a regular basis during the week. - We only comment a few times during the meeting, guess he wanted our hands up all the time. I guess the other elders shut him up. Come to find out it was his freaking wife who was taking notes and reporting them to her husband. Fast forward 10 yrs that self righteous jerk is now Df'd, left his wife and living out west. He would strong arm the publishers telling them what they should and should not be doing. I am just glad he is not in my congregation.
