Rutherford's wife, why the info blackout?
by VM44 inrutherford ruled the watchtower organization from 1916 to 1942, traveled extensively, had several residences, most notably, beth sarim.
but absent always was his wife, mary, not to mention his son, malcolm as well.. ok, rutherford was so well known, why did no one inquire about his son and wife?.
when rutherford resided at beth sarim in san diego, why was his wife not there with him?

When did you stop supporting the WT with $$$ ??
by wobble ini stopped whilst still an active witness, just cancelled my direct debit and told myself i would put money in the box to cover things like literatrash and heat and light sometimes, and sometimes i did , but that dropped off.. the thing is, i cannot really pin down what my motive was at the time, i still thought then that it was god's org.. but i just stopped giving them money.
why ?
i dunno.. when and why did you stop giving them money ?.

Funny you say that PalmTree. John Barr's (GB) wife, Mildred is known to live in the Turks and Caicos very comfortably I might add. The "higher ups" are known to visit/vacation warm weathered and expensive islands.

Originally known as the Peoples Pulpit Association, the organization was incorporated in 1909 when the Society's principal offices moved to Brooklyn, New York. In 1939, it was renamed Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, Inc., and in 1956 the name was changed to Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc. [10] Until 2000, a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses was president of both the Watch Tower (Pennsylvania) and Watchtower (New York) corporations, as well as Britain's International Bible Students Association (IBSA) corporation; in 2001, it was decided that the corporations' directors need not be members of the Governing Body. [3] In 2001 the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York was listed among the top forty revenue-generating companies in New York City, reporting an annual revenue of about 951 million US dollars. [11]
From wikipedia.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporations_of_Jehovah's_Witnesses
Wonder what their annual expenses are?

I try not too, my husband would like "x" each month to be given. Believe me it is a good amount. Every once in a while he will inquire and I have to fork over some money. We have contributed enough and I know the WTS has a ton of money. So yes we still give but I do not do it willingly. Now it is worse since ALL charitable contributions have to be in a form of a check to write it off in our taxes. I have always expressed I do not like the brothers seeing how much we donate.

Just this week the CO's wife had a special list of foods she likes and he got a copy. This broad will only eat special foods
That is crazy the COs around here shop during the week, most of their expenses are picked up by the congregation.

Watchtower Bible & Tract Society of New York
25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, 11201
718-560-5000
www.jw-media.org
Revenue: $951 million
Industry: Publishing
President: Milton Henshel
Employees: 3,415
It takes a lot of printing to supply more than 6 million Jehovah's Witnesses with the materials for their ministry. One publication, Watchtower, now has an average print run of 23 million copies twice per month, an increase of 7.5 percent over last year.
"Our report for the year is different from a Wall Street company," said vice president George Couch. Indeed, the company's employees are volunteers who live and work in the Brooklyn complex.Curious to know is this revenue for one year? I was unable to locate the timeframe. That is a lot of money!

Elders Trash Face Book
by sammielee24 injust found out that elders and spies are trolling face book and my space.
some elders in xxx congregation began trolling face book looking for wayward souls and using the links to other friends etc to get more info.
they waited until they had enough ammo on the 'friends' and then printed off some of the conversations being had....questioned the 'friends' who of course denied everything..and then they produced the printed copies to catch them in the lies.

I have FB and love it, I am able to keep in contact with long lost friends. How I look at it, if you do not want "certain" people to read your info/posts then do not let it for the world to see. My account is locked down that no one can see my friends only a photo of me. I even locked it down where my name does not come up if you search for my name.

Pissing On JWs That Are Geuninely Searching Here
by minimus ini just want to say something about witnesses who come here just to try to rebel rouse as opposed to jws that come here and are "searching" or are "active" members in the organization but are reading info on this site.. there's no reason to "beat down" witnesses just because they still go to meetings and we don't.
i've seen some insulting words against present elders and it's unnecessary and judgmental, in my honest opinion.
some jws like to spar with us on this board and it's a losing effort for them in reality.. who knows when or what will make someone actually leave the tentacles of the organization.
