Sevenofnine,
Thanx for tellin' me...haven't keep up on what's been goin' on around here until recently...
guess it's been pretty well talked out ...eh!
I had just talked to an elder friend on the subject...so it was fresh in my mind.
Thanx
Pax,

if this topic has been addressed already...sorry...just ignore it.... if not...i would like to hear from those who would defend this policy....or who see the inconsistencies in the views on blood but the wtbts.. .
the following is something i read on at another site.
there is no question that the watchtower's blood policy needlessly kills jw children.

logical,
A couple of thoughts...one...What is more important, the symbol for life(blood)...or Life itself? Which are we to respect more?
Also your thoughts on what the Bible says about abstaining from FAT...or one was "cut off" (Lev.7:22-25)
BTW...I agree with you...if one believes that they are to abstain from blood at all costs...then they should not take any part of blood...or they are not abtaining from it.
I think you are taking the proper stance for one who believes as you do.
Pax,
joel
hi all,.
someone asked me the other day why i am so interested in reading about jws,ex jws and things that are going on with the wts.. i think for the most part, only those who have been involved with the wts can understand why we are so interested in the subject.. of course having believed everything the wts has told us over the years and dedicating our lives to it kept us tied in with them.. what are the different reasons that you all have for continuing to be preocupied with the wts?.

Common Ground
I remember at meetings for field service...it was always brought up how we can get a friendly conversation goin' with people we knew nothing about...we had to be observant...and try to create COMMON GROUND as soon aas possible...
well...I don't know any other group of people...that I have sooo much COMMON GROUND with as you fine folk!
Whassup once-assimilated ones!!

what is revealed about the societys motivations regarding the reporting (or not) of child abuse?
it is revealed that the society wants to keep reports of child abuse very private within jw circles.
Hi Waiting,
I was an elder for about 5 years...that was about all I could take...the committee meetings were hard on the ol' heart to deal with...and teachin' things...especially at the Book study(why did we have to do the Rev book so much)...got me to step-aside about 3 years ago.
Been in since '74...been IA to the jdubs that I still talk to, for about 2 years.
About the peace signs n stuff...well I was 16 in '69...a hippie...the best time for music n fun times for me.
Plus...later in life...I was in a Franciscan seminary...studyin' to be a priest...and the greeting/goodbye was...PAX...peace in latin...so there's the other tie in.
Thanx for askin'

joel
hey all, hope you're having a great year so far.. before witnet was closed down, there was an interesting discussion regarding the fds and their failed prophecies.
i asked a question, but unfortunately there wasn't enought time to get everyone's view.. so i'll rephrase my posts, and wait to hear from y'all.. if we are so quick to say that the fds is a false prophet because of some failed prophecies (even tho they say they don't prophecy, we all know better) then how would you explain the bible book of jonah?.
a faithful prophet, jonah, followed (after much trial and tribulation to himself) jehovah's command to declare destruction on the city of nineveh.
LOL larc
Pax,
joel
i am sick of living a lie, yet afraid to change it.
married to a man who refuses to listen, who would rather plug his ears and shout "nooooooo" is taking it's tole.
i am afraid to speak my mind about my doubt, my thoughts, and what i'm learning, as i'm not ready to cross that point of no return.
Hi Moodyblue,
You definitely need to relieve your mind of any thoughts that the Org. is the only place one can be to serve God.
Read...Read...Read...information from books and web sites(which all can be by typing in JW's at online bookstores and sites)...in time your mind/heart will be completely free of any ties to the Org....then you can proceed.
If your husband is not taking in the same information...treat him with love with the knowledge of that fact.
Also...there are fine places out there for you in the future...I attend a large non-denominational church that fulfills all my needs to acknowledge God in worship and the hearin' of His Word.
All the best to ya!
Pax(Peace),
joel

neyank,
You asked..."What do you think"
Well...what I think is...I agree with your takes...
particularly the one about...would the FDS be beating the sheep for asking questions...questions that would have saved some of their lives...as it turned out.
Good stuff yank!

if not...I would like to hear from those who would defend this policy....or who see the inconsistencies in the views on blood but the WTBTS.
The following is something I read on at another site.
There is no question that the Watchtower's blood policy needlessly kills JW children. Something as simple as a transfusion of platelets is denied to JW children with the following results:
1. JW children with cancer end up having to stop their chemotherapy. Result - they die
2. JW children with leukemeia simply bleed to death. In the last fifty years childhood leukemia has gone from being 100% fatal to having a cure rate of over 75%. Truly a modern day miracle. Not in the JW community, however, were the death rate remains near 100%! Why does the WTS insist that critcally needed medical care be denied to these children?
Consider this: Platelets are among the very smallest components of blood weighing in at only 0.17% of blood volume.
Here's an illustration. Take a dollar as a whole, now take 1% of a dollar, now get out a saw and cut that penny into 5 pieces. One of those pieces is to a dollar as platelets are to blood! Consider the shocking hypocrisy and murderous implications of this policy. The Watchtower is perfectly willing to permit all of the following:
all components of plasma - 55% of blood volume hemoglobin - 13.5% of blood volume
The WTS will permit and yes sanction the collection and storage of cow blood and the extraction of major blood protein(hemoglobin), but these children
are refused a tiny component of human blood that can save their lives. Bear in mind the Mosaic law clearly calls for the pouring out of a slaughtered animal's blood on the ground.
JW children have no voice and no choice. The WTS, the local elders and their parents indoctrinate them and lead them to the grave. Denying them their most elementary human rights.
This is terribly wrong and it must stop. It must stop now. Not ten years from now, not five years from now, not even a year from now. We must insist that it stop now – right now. This is not the first time those claiming to serve Jehovah God have felt compelled to offer up their children as a sacrifice. Israelites who also served Molech were no doubt deeply touched when called upon to make their sacrifice. How did God view such child sacrifice? The Bible tells us:
And they have built the high places of To'pheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hin'nom, in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the
fire, a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart. (Jeremiah 7:31)
Anyone who questions whether or not this really is happening in the Jehovah's Witness community need only check the May 22, 1994 Awake magazine where these children are hailed as martyrs and where the WTS implies that the death toll has reached into the thousands.

As an ex-elder...I would just like to reaffirm the fact that elder wish to keep cong. problems "in-house" as much as possible.
The two witnesses policy is an out often, for not doing what many would otherwise do, according to their conscience...this is true in many areas...not just this topic.
Pax, joel
hello, i was reading judical com.
was really suprise to find out how some of jw's feel.
some have, like the single mom, have such a negative experience with them.
larc,
If my comments were inappropriate for Struggles situation...I apologize.
My comments were my thoughts on confessing in general...and not intended to say what anyone SHOULD do in this area.
Love certainly extended to one going through these type of decisions.
