I see no use for negativity whatsoever. It is a very bad habit. Animals cannot afford to be pessimistic or feel sorry for themselves. They have to get out there and do what they have to do.
My goal is to eliminate all negative thinking from my mind. I catch myself now and replace it with a positive thought. If there is no positive associated thought, i change the subject my mind is thinking about.
It will be interesting to see if I can succeed in this goal.

most of us believed that we wouldn't die, and on top of that we were about to become young again.. since we will all die, do you make it a priority in your life right now to live it fully, and to love fully the ones you care for because every day you skip, its lost and won't come back..
yes, i think an honest viewpoint of how life works enables us to live life properly. death is part of life. delusions of mansions in the sky, 47 virgins, eternal life in a fantasy paradise confuse our sensabilities and lead us into making bad decisions.

my wife made a comment today about all the pictures of paradise and how none of them ever show the inside of a house.
they are always the same pictures of people outside playing with lions and water in the background.

ran across an interesting story this morning on the cbs news.com site.
it's titled christianity condensed and it's a story about a new, shortened version of the bible.
the title is " 100- minute bible " and has only 20,000 words and 60 pages.
i could reduce it to a few thoughts
god (whether a personal creator or a collective higher presence) loves individuals
in following this example humans should love other individuals as they love themselves
the best way to show this love is to do unto others as you would have them do unto you
this creates a better world and if done perfectly by everyone would create a paradise
the reward for this is the action in itself, one becomes a more wholly connected person
