by Valis inwell, some here think that all we do is sit around a post naughty pics and do no charitable or volunteer work.
i thought we could see who does what for their respective communities.

I volunteer for a local child abuse prevention center.
Hey Dutchie,
Hope you're feeling better today. I lost my job this month. Should I keep in touch in case they try to evict me in a couple of months?

a Barbara G. Harrison story
by Nathan Natas inbesides "visions of glory," among barbara grizzuti harrison's published books is "an accidental autobiography.
" on pages 92 through 95 she relates a little story of her mother.. - - - begin quote - - -.
her religion had delivered her from the fate she feared: she was no longer a cipher.

Nathan,
I'm going to have to display some ignorance here (my natural state anyway) and ask who, exactly this Barbara Harrison is. This seems extremely interesting. Does she have a website or anywhere that more excerpts can be read?
Thanks (and sorry if this is a terribly ignorant post).

Notes Taken at the Judical Committee Meeting
by zenpunk ini used to spend quite a bit of time during my teenage years in what was affectionately called "the green room".
the elders couldn't wait to take out a pen and paper and take pages upon pages of notes while i spoke and my poor parents sat and squirmed.
i wasn't a bad kid, it was always about stupid things, like sister-so-and-so said i wore a short skirt to school, etc.

And lets be clear: the 5 year rule is a joke. I've never been associated with a congregation that adhered in any way, shape, or form with that rule. And neither does bethel. Examples such as Franz and Bowen are truly exceptions to the status quo.

It's like Professor said:
When the moderators away, the porn-loving freaks will sneak in and play!
It's clear from the posts that they're screaming for their moderator to clean it up but so far...nada! (probably took the speaker out to lunch )

Even if you get the file at the congregation level, there's still a skeleton of notes at bethel.

While each hall individually has some leeway, they all are in regular correspondence with the HQ in Brooklyn. Depending on the result of those 'meetings', a note/report is written and becomes part of your permanent file at bethel.

Do you ignore certain posters?
by LDH inok before we get off on the wrong foot this is not a flame war.
i read a comment by belbab on hillary's post this morning...he remarked that he had asked a question after the 09/11 attack, that no one answered.
well, i didn't even remember reading it, so i did a simple search.

Don't know anyone here well enough to avoid their posts...and I really don't think in those terms. I look more at the subject of the post (of course it depends on whether I'm in a shallow or deep mood ... I'll give three guesses which is my dominant mood, and the first two don't count).
I will say this: I've already developed a liking for a couple of posters that I will look for in the future. Maybe it just takes longer to foster grudges.
