More weasel worded than a Washington politician.
Okay I will admit that. At some point the senerios people listed have bothered me a bit. And since the WTS cannot provide a simple yes or no answer how can I?
i'm beginning to have some doubts about my doubts.
this subject is one of them.. many argue that it is unfair, unloving, and unjust for god to destroy 99.9% of all mankind at armageddon.
but didn't this happen before in the days of noah?

Actually we do teach that and have for YEARS........ ]
What about:

Can it be stated flatly that only baptized witnesses of Jehovah will survive Armageddon?—A. S., U.S.A.
It would be misleading to answer this question with either a simple “Yes” or a “No.” The Scriptural answer of necessity must be a “qualified” one, and it is easy to see why.
Don't all Christian professing denominations claim to be following the Bible?
Yes but merely claiming to and actually teaching are two different things. Most christain religions teach the trinity, hellfire, immortality of the soul, salvation being more important than God's soverignty, etc. The implication is yes, you need to be one of Jehovah's witnesses, but that isn't what is preached door to door at first. What is preached is one needs to learn what the bible really teaches and then the decision to do something about that is up to them. That same article I quoted about says:
There appears to be no Biblical reason for thinking that a person who had a reasonable knowledge of Bible truth and knew the importance of dedicating his life to God and being baptized, but who held back from doing so, would be preserved by God through the coming destruction.
We are aware that many hypothetical or “What if . . . ” cases can be raised, cases that seem to involve extenuating circumstances. What point, though, is there in speculating on these? Jesus’ illustration of the “sheep” and “goats” makes it plain that a time will come when the division between the “sheep” and the “goats” will be clear and final. (Matt. 25:31-46) Instead of looking for “loopholes” in God’s arrangement for salvation, what all humans who desire preservation need to do is take full advantage of God’s merciful opportunity to serve him. And they need to do so now, before it becomes too late to begin thinking about becoming a servant of Jehovah. The “sheep” who are preserved into “everlasting life” will be responsible persons who do God’s will as completely as possible. (1 John 2:17) The Bible shows without doubt that Jehovah’s will for humans today includes being baptized and being public witnesses of him.—Rom. 10:10.
i can understand many argue that scientifically it is impossible for the earth to remain forever (sun dies).
what is wrong with the argument that god could refuel the sun?.
Your spirit is a whole different matter.
The word for spirit is a form a ru'ach (See http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/OTpdf/qoh12.pdf and ecc 12:7). Animials are said to have spirts as well at, amont other places, Ge 7:15 (http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/OTpdf/gen7.pdf)
The idea of the spirit returning to God does not require that we think of actual movement form on place to another does it? When Jehovah told the isrealies to to return to him at Malachi 3:7 did this require actual momevent from place to place? Couldn't the spirit returning to God mean that the ability to have existence reverts to God once a person dies? That the spirit is the force that allows a person to live?

what is wrong with the argument that god could refuel the sun?.
Does God have a soul? Does Jesus ?
I don't think God has a soul. When he speaks of "my soul" this he is refearing to "myself" or "my person". God is a spirit and so is Jesus.

I see that the immortality of the soul has crept in here. How can anyone believe that when the bible is clear:
The dead are conscious of nothing.
Like animals have the same eventuallity at death.
The soul that is sinning, it itself will die.
i'm beginning to have some doubts about my doubts.

Besides Revelation doesn't say Jehovah is going to kill 99.9 % of the population.
That is very true. In fact, I don't think that JWs currently teach only they will survive armeggedon, but only that the majority of mankind is not following the Bible, and as a result will not be pleasing to God. For those that don't have the opportunity to hear JWs in the preaching work, that is left up to God isn't it?

We are talking about people that woudl stone someone for saying the wrong thing or working on the sabbath, we are talking about people that nailed a man to a cross for nothing else than preaching love, acceptance and tolerance.
Jesus had no problems being bold for truth, even when people wanted to kill him for this.
Jesus specificly references Noah entering the ark and a flood. What are you saying? That Noah, the ark, and the flood, did not exists? Or that only a global flood did not exist? If the later, I could see how that would not be decietful. But if Jesus knew that Noah was not real then this does seem to be deceitful.
However, if the flood wasn't global wouldn't that make what Jesus said about surviving the last days meaningless since the implication is that everyone would need to be ready to survive destruction.

they had no concept whatsoever of the implications of disobeying
How can you say this? The bible says that eve was decieved, but she was at least able to mentioned that God told her she would die.
Adam on the otherhand wasn't decieved. He just choose to die with his wife.

What about the context of 2 Peter 3:10. Vs. 5-7 compares the future day of judgment to that of the flood. What was destroyed according to verse 7? Wasn't it the ungoldy men, not the physical earth?
okay here is my thread to discuss this.
i believe the bible is inspired by god and reliable.
many argue it's neither.
earth was created before the sun?
Where does it say this in the bible?
