  MadJW--- I am asking this question with no malice intended. What are you doing here? Are you trying to convert us? If so, this is not going to work. Are you following Jesus' command to love your fellow man? If so, you may want to think of changing your definition of love.

  If you are active in the organization, then why do you think it is safe to be on here? You know that you could get disfellowshipped if it were discovered by the brothers that you were on this site. Which raises the question.... If you think that we are all so unintelligent, why are you wasting your time and risking your standing in the congregation just to engage us in some immature, malicious mudslinging?

  i used to think of leaving early.

  at the end i started making excuses to leave (supposedly work related) so that i could just get out of there.

  i wanted a drink!.

  When I was a little kid, I would try to be as perfect as possible so that hopefully my father would be in a good mood and not beat my siblings and I within an inch of our life when we got home. He would never take us to the library during the meeting because he couldn't beat us hard enough in there, everyone would hear. We usually knew that it was coming when we got home. He was such a good father. A real "spare the rod, spoil the child" kinda guy!!!!

  Then, as I got into my teens, he became inactive, (big relief) And then I would look around at other people, and wonder if they were paying attention or just as bored as I was!!!! I felt guilty, but I couldn't help it!!!! Same old S***, different day. I was so tired of hearing the same things over and over. The same counsel, same scriptures, same hypocrites on the platform.

  Would You "Technically" Remain A Jehovah's Witness If There Were No Sanctions Involved?

  many of us have drifted.

  we know it isn't the truth but we might not have officially resigned as jws.

  many catholics are nominal catholics and they are not shunned or avoided because of their not going to church or confession.. would you remain a jw if the organization didn't punish you for your inactivity?.

  this guy is on you tube and goes by the name of rational skeptic.

  i just thought maybe he's a member of this board.

  he is very consistent in winning arguments with active jws.

  Well, I am very interested to see his videos. It is almost midnight here, and I have been studying (cramming) for a possible pop quiz tomorrow, so I am not sure if my eyes will stay open long enough to watch it, but I will give it a shot!!! Always good to see someone who can stop the JWs in their tracks.

  i wanted all of you to know how much you have helped me in the few short weeks that i have been here.. i was starting to sink into a very deep and dangerous depression, wrestling with the lies that i have been taught all of my life, and feeling like i was evil because i did not want to follow anymore.

  fearing that i was deeply offending god and hurting him.. since being on this site, the weight is starting to be lifted.

  the thick veil of fog is slowly starting to clear, and i feel like i can live!

  Since Leaving "The Truth" Are You Really Happier?

  witnesses say that when people leave "the truth", they get involved in a debauched life, misery, and general unhappiness.. they give experiences of some that left the "sweet fellowship" of the "brotherhood" and the awful results because of it.

  then, they come back and their lives change 100% for the better!.

  have you found life to be miserable and unproductive since "leaving jehovah"?.

  I am new here, and I am still battling with the part of my mind that still thinks like a JW, so I do have some days where it kindof haunts me, but even the worst day, really isn't all that bad in the grand scheme of things.

  I cannot however say that I am happier now than when I was in the Org........................BECAUSE I WAS NEVER HAPPY TO START WITH WHEN I WAS IN!!!!!

  So, I cannot be happier because I had no happiness to start with!

  But now, I can definitely say that I am working towards happiness, and I am getting there one day at a time!!!!

  It is so great, and I am so much more happy than I ever was. Even though things are complicated now, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I am pursuing higher eduacation, and trying to better myself in other ways as well. These are very important things that I never would have accomplished when I was in the Org. They are so important to my own self esteem, which is next to non-existant since I was born in, and nothing I did was ever enough.

  I gain so much encouragement from everyone's experiences, and I love to hear when someone has a good experience, or lets us all know that their life is getting brighter and happier. I can't wait to get there too!!!

  You are all an inspiration to me. I know that sounds cliche, but it is the truth. I look to you all for hope and encouragement. And you deliver!

  I am so glad to have come to this site! So many wonderful souls!!! Thank you Tec and Quandry, you both have made me feel so much at home here! And you too Dissed!!

  I can't wait to get started with my life!!! I only wish I would have done this sooner!

  Who owns the Kingdom Halls?

  i only ask this because when in, our kh was on leased tribal land and the local jw's could never really get title.

  in fact it was difficult to secure a loan from the wts, so we got one privately because of that.

  they didn't like the part in the tribes contract that said they could take the building if we didn't fullfill our charter with them and it had to be listed with some local native americans of that tribe and not the elders.

  Ahhhh Dissed, that is music to my ears, and that is saying a lot, because I really love music! I can't wait to have a few years of "Detox from WTBTS" behind me! This is the first time in years that I have had hope of future happiness!
